It's the first Grand Tour of the year! We're not Belgian or Dutch so the Spring Classics don't interest that much! It's being shown on SBS in the mornings so Australians can follow it! It starts this weekend!
It's the Giro d'Italia, where grown men race to wear pink in Milan!

Current ongoing storylines:
- Astana will be there! Astana! With Alberto Contador! Ahead of their holidays in July! - Danilo Di Luca will defend and doesn't do drugs! Just ask him! - Waiting in the wings are Denny Menchov, Mauricio Soler and a cast of Italians! - It starts with a Team Time Trial! - Robbie McEwen will be back in sunny Belgium by Stage 10! - Cadel Evans won't be attendance as he is busy liberating Tibet against the wishes of the Australian Olympic Committee preparing for some race in France!

I suspect he won't be alone, there is not much joy for lovers of the flat after half way.

Of course. Apart from one or two second division Italian sprinters (who are no SUPER MARIO because they're mere mortals), every sprinter will be resting up with a nice chinotto by Stage 10.
Don't know why...*looks at stage profiles*...oh yeah.

I am looking forward to THIS.

Alright, what the hell? SBS have been going on how they'll be showing the Giro and in my naivety, I presumed they'd be showing 30 minutes each day. Alas, that isn't the case...they'll be showing TEN MINUTES. Yes, TEN MINUTES before it can't cut into the Dutch News or the French News or whatever they show at that time of the morning.
Seems hardly worth it now...
