Hi, do any of you travel on the waterloo and city line ever/often?

Occasionally, why?

ocassionally, even in the old days when they still had 30s trains on it.

i've never been on it! doing a little research - when the train gets to the station, does it just stop there and then wait a bit and then go the other way?

how do the platforms work? are there just one platform? are there more than one? is it just two trains going backwards and forwards?

there is a reversing siding at waterloo, with an up and a down platform. Bank has two biderectional terminating platforms.

mmm.. interesting.. see what's happening is that i'm trying to see if i can organise something that involves being on the waterloo and city line for ages. a kind of party, i suppose, but with people possibly all arriving at different times.

i'm trying to see if it's possible to just specify "meeting at the first carriage of the bank station platform 1" and then everyone end up on the same train and we can sit there for ages, or will we have to change trains every 5 minutes (which would be annoying)

One time, I didn't get off the train quick enough.

The train continues forward, stops in darkness for 5 mins, then reverses back onto the other direction platform, then continues on to wherever. At which point, I got off the train to general confusion from passengers getting on. (I played it like it was entirely normal)...

oh cool that's fucking awesome! kind of the outcome i'd be after.

how likely is it that we would get kicked out of the train before it does that reverse thing?

I hope you're not suggesting brazenly defying the Boris Booze Ban?

Matt DC, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 15:37 (eighteen years ago)

matt DC you're SHARP.

this might be my birthday celebration - ken vs boris round 2.

ken c, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 15:38 (eighteen years ago)

also, the booze ban isn't in place as yet, right?
