The Score

I wanted to love this movie. It had transcendent moments both aesthically and actign wise . Ed Norton made me belive in Robert DeNiro again. But it seems to have been raped in the editing room . Not enough Marlon, Not enough Angela. The back story is confusing, trite in places.
What did y'all think of it.

I thought it was going to be a 2 hour Fugees music video. Alas.

The tragedy of modern day Brando is that any scene where his entire girth is in the camera's view features too much Marlon. I don't like Angela Bassett at all. But Norton was good as usual, and Deniro wasn't quite as bad as he usually is, so it was alright, except that the wrong guy came out on top.

I thought it was a good heist movie, but aside from looking good and having an acceptably exciting plot I didn't think that much of it. I thought Norton's was the best performance. But the script worked against the rest of the actors doing well: Bassett barely had much to do at all, Brando only a little more. DeNiro could've been given a lot more to work with, I think, even with the other script deficiencies, but it seems they just counted on his being DeNiro.

Great actors, flawed script, placing too much weight in the exposition, & not enough drama in the post-heist manouverings.
