clicking the options here won't change your layout, btw. (yeah, I did it too, already. and I was the one who started this poll. tsk.)

StanM, Wednesday, 10 September 2008 19:39 (fifteen years ago) link

Old.css, because I'm a reactionary foo(bar).
Any chance the page could have some "your vote has been hugged" message once you've hit vote? (Not a separate intermediary page obv, since that would likely be annoying)

ILX being down made me recognize that I have a sad tendency to click that ILX bookmark completely automatically whenever I'm slightly bored.

Yeah, take a wild guess which one I prefer.

I never used old.css, even when it was default.css. Or if I did I changed my browser default fonts so I wouldn't have to look at Times New Roman all day. To me it feels like driving into the wrong part of town.

old.css cuz it's what I'm used to, classic, iconic, I am a stubborn, etc. I second whoever said it should be the default.

Old.css EASILY. Agreed that it should be the default - it is what ILX looks like, all others are local variants that should be granted religious freedom but are by no means legitimate pretenders to the throne.

I switched from old.css to caek.css after old.css began showing the "has new answers" text in red instead of blue. That's kinda distracting, I'm not sure why it was changed... Caek.css still has the text in regular blue.

Tuomas, Wednesday, 8 July 2009 18:05 (fourteen years ago) link

How strange, I didn't change it. Maybe you should check your machine for viruses.

Keith, Wednesday, 8 July 2009 18:11 (fourteen years ago) link

OK, that's changed back. I don't recall ever changing that.

Keith, Wednesday, 8 July 2009 18:13 (fourteen years ago) link

Thanks! I guess I should've brought this up earlier.

Tuomas, Wednesday, 8 July 2009 18:15 (fourteen years ago) link

No problem.

Incidentally, Caek - sticking up stylesheets takes two minutes, so don't worry about sending me them whenever - it's just programming major new functionality that takes a while!

^^^^ this. Thanks!

Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 9 July 2009 03:29 (fourteen years ago) link

Kenan has provided a new version of his stylesheet, plus a new Kenan's Dark Stylesheet too. Both look great.

Keith, Saturday, 11 July 2009 13:38 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah, people had been telling me for a year or more that kenan.css looked all weird, and it was flat broke on Safari, but I only got up the motivation to fix the damn thing last night.

a Gioconda kinda dirty look (kenan), Saturday, 11 July 2009 13:44 (fourteen years ago) link

I like the dark one. Bookmarks are a bit bust, though: the list of updated ones appears unstyled, and the two bookmarking messages "Message Bookmarked" and "Bookmark Removed" are always visible at the top of the main frame.

stet, Saturday, 11 July 2009 17:10 (fourteen years ago) link

I noticed that myself. There was a "display:hidden" that I accidentally stripped out. And the bookmarks list just needs a style. I will fix.

Thanks!

a Gioconda kinda dirty look (kenan), Saturday, 11 July 2009 20:05 (fourteen years ago) link

a Gioconda kinda dirty look (kenan), Saturday, 11 July 2009 20:07 (fourteen years ago) link

Fixes to Kenan's stylesheets have been made and are now live.

Keith, Saturday, 11 July 2009 23:49 (fourteen years ago) link

Kenan, made a minor change to yours to just make the site admin message show the same as bookmarks... Assumed that's what you'd want, but let me know if not. It's a bit of a problem all these styles that don't often show on the site.

Keith, Tuesday, 14 July 2009 19:35 (fourteen years ago) link

No, perfect. Thanks! Obv I don't see the admin menu. I just save a copy of each kind of page out of Firefox and style them.

a Gioconda kinda dirty look (kenan), Tuesday, 14 July 2009 19:43 (fourteen years ago) link

Oh yeah the admin menu looks fine, I checked... Mainly because these pages are just made up of much the same stuff as everything else.
