Are they fairly decent yet? If so, what models? The only functionality I really care about is OCR and being able to save my doodles as pdfs. Also, looking cool at meetings and seminars.

Get a Wacom-tech-powered tablet. Unless you have no use for pressure-sensitivity.

Since no one on ILC replied... Anyone read comics on these things (namely Asus Transformer, or any other Android tablet)? How do they handle double splash pages?

I'm thinking of getting a tablet, but the main reason is to act as a MIDI keyboard or otherwise sampler/sequencer. Does anyone here use a tablet for music? Basically i want either something like FruityLoops or something like Ableton's Simpler, where you can drag in a WAV or other sample, and play it on a keyboard.

Also, does the iPad or Android tablets have any keyboard sampler apps that have ZERO latency? Cos if so that would be effing wonderful.

Anyone know how to add files onto the home screen of the google nexus 7?
I want to be able to easily access pdfs without going into file explorer first

They gave you a way to access a file and now you want MORE?! Ingrate.

anyone got any thoughts on a good sub 250 dollar/200 euro android for web/video use primarily?

I'm leaning towards 2013 nexus 7 32gb cos it'd stay relatively usable for a few years but no expandable memory is rank

I tried to do a "most physically robust tablet" search and ended with a load of dietary supplements and a type of construction site tablet that looks very robust but if you need to ask the price etc.. I'm not getting a Samsung again because the cable connecting the screen and module keeps disconnecting every time his lordship decides to headbutt it or throw it at me in a rage!
