And now I'm positive September in New Zealand and Australia is a good idea!

Okay, back on this thread I spoke of first my desire and then my confirmation to come fly down on a visit to NZ and possibly Australia. Partially to update that situation -- I've talked to a lot of folks about this on e-mail, but I'm not sure if I've got everyone -- here is where things stand now:

Fly out from LA on the evening of August 29, arrive in Auckland very early on the morning of August 31. Will then fly out from Auckland later that day to Melbourne, arriving there at around 6 pm. I'll be in Melbourne through Sept. 3, flying back to Auckland and arriving at around 3 pm that day. Currently planning on staying the following day in Auckland as well, then leaving on Sept. 5 (possibly via Hamilton?) to fly directly to Dunedin. However, this last part of the travel plan has yet to be settled, so any suggestions/thoughts/complaints should be offered up now! ;-) I would like to be back from Dunedin in Auckland itself either on the evening of Sept. 14th or early enough (with plenty of room to spare!) on the 15th to catch the departing flight on the 15th, which leaves at around 6 pm.

So anyway, that's the situation -- any advice, as mentioned, is warmly appreciated!

I'm going to try and organise a special Tugboat show for the time you're in Melbie. It should be a piece of piss cos it's a while away. If that doesn't come off I will take you out for a drink instead.

I'm going to take Ned to Pequino and get him absolutely monstered on billion dollar cocktails.

where is Pequino?

queenoftheharpies, Sunday, 16 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

um, sort of down an alleyway, on Moray Place. Do you remember "superstar"? down that alleyway. you can also get to Pequino from that door next to Jizo.

is that the alleyway that outre and penetralia used to be on?

A Tugboat show would be very fun, Jim -- I do thank you! I think an ILX meet-up in Melbourne is a Necessary and Good Thing.

Monster cocktails? I can't say no. :-)

Or monstered on cocktails, either way works.

I don't know why you aren't stopping off in Tokyo ; ) on the way back to the U.S. Air travel is so cheap now! I can get a return ticket (roundtrip) between Tokyo and Los Angeles for about $300 US.

Don't tell me W-O-R-K...it's a four-letter word, obviously. ; p

is that the alleyway that outre and penetralia used to be on? = is that the alleyway we were sitting in drinking beer the other night singing christian songs?

DRUNK!

Precisely. And do you wish you were me in that situation? Yes you do.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 17 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll get a new haircut in your honour if you rock up in Melbourne. Well, I'm thinking of getting my hair cut and it takes me so long to get around to doing anything that it probably won't be until you get here.

toraneko, Monday, 17 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

monstered = drunk. Or more correctly, it means so drunk that you turn into a MONSTER and do monsterously BAD THINGS.

I'm having a t-shirt made that says "Blame Ned" and I'm going to wear it when we go out, just in case things go horribly wrong and I eat someone or burn the whole city down.

Amazing! Monster Ned, eh? There are worse fates.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 17 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)
