It's all about Joe Dallesandro.

Speaking of Holly, I just finished reading her autobiography "A Low Life in High Heels" (great title!), which I got on the street for a dollar.

Sean, Thursday, 20 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmm, well since no one else is contributing, I'll also state I have Mary Waronov's autobiography (she's awesome, book is scary), and the Joe Dallesandro book (lots of pictures, which is the whole point). Oh yeah, the Edie: An American Biography book too. Guess I like those Warhol Superstars.

Sean, Thursday, 20 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I read Edie's bio too, very sad but at least she got to be famous I suppose. Anyone see the movie where she gets dragged along the ground topless and her head bumps up from the gutter onto the kerb? I'll be really embarrassed if that's this movie.

the avedon photo of candy and Joe Dallesandro is so my thing

anthony, Friday, 21 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah but it wasnt from the gutter to the kerb, it was indoors, in a house

unknown or illegal user, Friday, 21 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Was that in Ciao! Manhattan? I saw it so many years ago I forget. Anyway it's a depressing movie. I like my Superstars to be a little less fragile than Ms. Sedgewick.

Sean, Friday, 21 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oh thanks

S: Edie, An American Girl
D: Ciao Manhattan

God Ciao Manhattan was atrocious. Although watching the extras/director interview gave some great insight as to what the project could've been.

Watched the Bridget Berlin and Jackie Curtis docs recently. Key lime pie and torn stockings will never seem the same.

Obv, S Mary Woronov as Calamity Jane in Death Race 2000!

If you read the Edie bio, then see Ciao, you basically want to strangle the directors ... what a waste.

Joe Dallesandro's bare ass on a 40-foot screen is a truly inspiring sight. (In this case, in a Lincoln Center showing Serge Gainsbourg's Je t’aime moi non plus, appearing opposite Jane Birkin's posterior.)

The stars were there and, uh, i guess that really is Joe, now? He talked smack about Paul Morrissey several times in the Q&A.

Is there some kind of beef between him and Morissey?

Josefa, Monday, 1 February 2016 17:32 (ten years ago)

(your spelling is correct)

Josefa, Monday, 1 February 2016 17:33 (ten years ago)

Joe was asked about a docufilm on his career/life w/ clips of the Warhol films that PM is some way being difficult about. "It'll come out after he passes."

"POETRY, FILM, MUSIC, Q&A + BOOK SIGNING"--he's 83 now, so hoping no leather and/or whip.

He walks with a cane now, so watch out for that. Nice to see he's still active though.
