I have a job interview in 20 minutes!!

I only applied yesterday and apparently he's seeing people all day and I've only jsut got the email so he's making a decision now.

I was an interviewer for a job yesterday. We had two candidates for one position: both would have been able to do the job. We had to choose and we did. I hate having power (no matter how limited) over what happens in other people's lives.

Graham, you should seriously consider whether you want this job before applying. If you go to the interview and then decide not to take it you will be written off as a flake. You are at university, right? Job?

Right, the university is moving from 3 terms to 2 semesters per year which means new modules and soemone has to compile them. My job would be to make sure the stuff gets entered correctly, and to harass departments whose only contribution to the databse has been a Yorkie wrapper. During the whole explanation I basically only said "Yeah, OK" over and over again and couldn't think of anything to ask. I told him about the ilx move and stuff, and about why I haven't gotten a job before. But I think I completely didn't say why I'd be good at talking to departments, which is the bulk of the job and also my downfall. And he said 7 or 8 people had applied and he'd make a decision today, and unless they were troglodites I've lost :(.

Nordic, congrats on the coming interview! If anything, play your need down a bit. You might feel like saying, "Give me the money already!" However, employers tend to blow off the desperate.
