I never intended to be so absent from ILE for so long a time. (ignores sneers of 'oh you were gone?') but this teaching thing has swallowed me whole.
I'm physically exhausted every night, am at least two weeks behind in school work and have been neglecting every single aspect of my former "life".
I should be working now. I have two big assignments due tomorrow and have done ZILCH. Instead I got sucked into a J.Lo movie, ate almost a whole pizza (groan), and am on my fourth beer.
Shortly I will take a tranq. and pass out for a few hours. But I thought of you lot first.

Good luck with getting your assignments finished!

I had planned on starting a blog to chronicle the whole first year teaching experience. HAAAAAAAAAAA! I was so naive to think I would actually have the time to write for myself. good lord.
Today's worthwhile experiences:
1. Sitting in classroom, waiting for students, feel something in my sandal, like a leaf, shake my foot and huge, m-fing, granddaddy cockroach scrambles out. He wasn't there when I left home, I promise.
2. Run to teacher's lounge between classes for potty break, spot student at water fountain with a monitor ankle bracelet on, you know for people on probation. This was an eighth grade girl.
*sigh*
:-/ Well, I can't just say 'coast on cheerily cynical optimism like I have,' so I won't! You certainly had some fine and encouraging words to say to me when I expressed my own doubts over trying teaching again, so I admit I'm rooting for you to go through with flying colors here. Just leave a bit of time yourself to decide what's best for you. :-)
