ok i am at that thing at arc now but i am just sitting out in the front part doing this. david kilgour is playing in there. i like his music ok but what am i suppose to do, just sit & watch him? that seems boring. so on the whole i'd rather be at home.

, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is this lame?

, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

this tends to happen with me in the summertime. others go out, i stay in.

nathalie, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

no disrespect, but if you don't wanna be there, just go home. Why is it lame?

Rhiannon, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

it's this thing

, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm at arc too now, and may i just say that i am having quite a good time, usually I hate going out too, but still I go out and drink until I vomit etc. The music has finished now.

when i saw that doorag was here i immediately felt better about this whole thing.

I danced to the chills, it was fun. Martin Phillippps has bad dress sense, but I can't say too much, b/c he could be lurking over my shoulder at any minute.

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I put my pink high heels on the stage while i was dancing. i have three belts on. It's my new thing.

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I sort of love David Kilgour, b/c he reminds me of simon. I only heard him play one song, i got here late.

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

doorag keeps pestering me about the 486, but i don't know about all that stuff.

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

the 486 is already set up! its real E-Z to use, c'mon

, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

but no mouse, wtf? wheres my friend, i thought we were in for salad.

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oh no they et it already! we have to go cruisin for burgerz!

, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i have a car! lets go.

, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

'KAY! where are all the british people, btw? they should come for a burger too.

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

we are here too but my peripheral burger/floppy port is acting up so no go

mark s, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

have you got three belts on?

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

m,ar4k!!!! BURGERZZZZZ@@TRuy4ruymn!!!!!!

, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

haha, me and d'rag are talking about: "how could you know what ILE is and not want to go on it?"

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

http://www.xs4all.nl/~rossnbrg/gakas.jpg

i covet this, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

also, the reason I think this whole thing seemed a bit lame was b/c there was a lot of buildup and I was all like scared I was gonna be late and miss everything, but when i got here it wasn't even crowdy or anything.

also There was no cake or anything. And the whole reason for the party was that Arc was turning five. and no cake? despicable.

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s, doorag read LOTR when he was eleven and he thought is was "shit".

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

now he says ' not entirely shit, just not that great"

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

surely this object proves he was wrong

haha it says WARNING CHOKING HAZARD, and if you look at his hands you see it is korrekt to do so

mark s, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

it's really fun being on ILE when theres actually other people on it too. but now we have to go and eat burgers! Doorags buying me one.

Doorag says "everyone can work it out for themselves that this thread has negated itself. See how much fun we're having?!"

rainy, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Do like to go to clubs/gigs more often but it's kind of difficult when you don't have any friend to go with you, so after I have a tiring day at work i just go home and waste away.

Julio Desouza, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I missed burgers with Duane and Rainy, I am sad. :-( I insist on making up for that in September or something!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't mind going out. I just hate the ethos of "you must go out", that just makes me more determined to stay in. I don't really know where to go anyway.

jel --, Saturday, 22 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

you guys should come to the crown next saturday night to see us play with the strange girls and "prepill love". there are prizes for dressing up. there is an afterparty at hamish's house. it'll be so great (thats what i'll tell myself anyway, even though i don't much like people at present, i hope i mean at present i wuld hate to feel like this forever).

queenoftheharpies, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

there is an afterparty at hamish's house.

hamish, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Kiwi's- Is it true if you get married to a native Maori you automatically become a citizen?? Anyone want to tie the knot?? Male or Female it doesn't matter as long as I can sit at the ARC,have lagers with Mr. Galbraith and sample the local herbal horticulture with the Dead C you don't have to go out..

brg30, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hamish, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hamish, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

queenoftheharpies, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

unknown or illegal user, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

unknown or illegal user, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

unknown or illegal user, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

unknown or illegal user, Sunday, 23 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"you owe me money!"

You owe me live recordings of Plagal Grind!! I already have more than enough King Loser...How's Cecilia's new band???

brg30, Monday, 24 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hamish, Monday, 24 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

unknown or illegal user, Monday, 24 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

seven years pass...

Has, at only 21 years of age, going out stopped being fun?

Tonight I Dine on Turtle Soup (EDB), Friday, 30 April 2010 07:22 (sixteen years ago)

wait, who is 21

g.w.f.nagl (cozen), Friday, 30 April 2010 07:23 (sixteen years ago)

edb - yes

Nhex, Friday, 30 April 2010 07:27 (sixteen years ago)

ignore me, stupidly read edb as enbb

g.w.f.nagl (cozen), Friday, 30 April 2010 07:30 (sixteen years ago)

been wondering this lately, but at 21+15

con-ni (rahni), Friday, 30 April 2010 07:31 (sixteen years ago)

Hey cozen - you can think I'm 21. Wouldn't mind that tbh.

Aqua Backrat (ENBB), Friday, 30 April 2010 07:55 (sixteen years ago)

this kinda happened to me junior year of college. :>

I Think Ur a Viking (dyao), Friday, 30 April 2010 08:52 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm practically 22 now, but things have been less and less fun over the last 2 years. Unfortunately I don't live in a city with good daytime events where I could meet my desire for dance party action without having to go through the whole hitting up da klub experience, especially taking the fucking night bus home.

Tonight I Dine on Turtle Soup (EDB), Friday, 30 April 2010 14:05 (sixteen years ago)

to me going out almost always seems like a good idea until i make it out and then wish i was home.

Aerosol, Friday, 30 April 2010 14:11 (sixteen years ago)

I am drunk

^^ the last time I went to a club. haha

I Think Ur a Viking (dyao), Friday, 30 April 2010 14:13 (sixteen years ago)

For me, it's not so much as that I hate going out, as that I hate going out when I'm not getting to do exactly as I want - I know that sounds spoiled but I'm currently very poor and a lot of my friends have really different (i.e not-as-good-as-mine) taste in "clubs" and music. I'd rather sit in the house with a book and some sweets than dance around somebody's handbag to The Fratellis ever again.

boxedjoy, Friday, 30 April 2010 22:59 (sixteen years ago)

I'm 28 and I've been dead sick of going out for around 2 years now, though I still do it. In Atlanta there are like 4-5 things going on every single night of the week and everybody goes to all of them and everyone is drunk and existing in some incoherent, stunted, unending party that never develops into anything. What do you even talk about with people that you just saw the night before and the night before that?

I mean, rah-rah for nihilism/debauchery/drinking away the nothing-ness cos we're in our 20s and we're so deep. All we're really doing is giving money to Camel and Miller brewing co.

Adam Bruneau, Saturday, 1 May 2010 00:29 (sixteen years ago)

When I was ~20 and heavily into drinking, E and willing to try whatever drugs might be offered to me, I looked up one morning and realized I hadn't accomplished shit in six months. I hadn't even finished a book, where in prior times I was doing an average-sized novel a week in addition to school reading.

It didn't get me to stop doing anything completely at that point, but I realized that I didn't want to be going out seven nights a week.

a cross between lily allen and fetal alcohol syndrome (milo z), Saturday, 1 May 2010 01:09 (sixteen years ago)

i hate going out unless it's to spend time with people i haven't seen in a few months. but really i'd still rather do my catching up at someone's house.

scrappy dyaoo (darraghmac), Saturday, 1 May 2010 01:25 (sixteen years ago)

i always like going out

controll-s (velko), Saturday, 1 May 2010 02:28 (sixteen years ago)

^^this, exactly

bette ghent (get bent), Saturday, 1 May 2010 03:16 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, now it's like I'm excited to see someone play, and then I'm waiting at the club thinking I'd be having more fun doing schoolwork at the library, frankly.

Tonight I Dine on Turtle Soup (EDB), Saturday, 1 May 2010 03:55 (sixteen years ago)

I still long for those ecstatic moments that seem to wave over you for hours when a DJ is just on and you're feeling it, and where time and space seem to change form. As much as I can long and anticipate, though, I am consistently disappointed, as even when a DJ or whoever is 'just on', that feeling isn't there. It seems like going out, at best, involves listening to music on a good soundsystem, and getting a bit of exercise, despite preobably being tired to begin with.
