I never feel completely away from the world when i am watching/reading/... oh hell CONSUMING art because it always feels like a reflection of it. Even Sci Fi.

Just bought a G. Bataille book off my friend. YAY! She thought it was pure crap.

Yes to Anne of Green Gables or anything else by that author. Also books by Diana Wynne Jones...basically anything I really really loved when I was 10 or 11.

I just read an Alice Hoffman, and few writers have that transporting effect better than her - those passages where teenagers get carried away by hot summer nights, for instance, are as captivating and all- consuming as anything in literature.
