here's a question - which catagory do you fall into

1)bored silly at work and looking for anything to do to pass the time - ANYTHING

2)scared stupid of human contact and so make friends on the net chat rooms with people as it eases the pain of being a 'sensitive intellectual'

umm, neither. although if scared of human contact why would anyone seek out more human contact? i mean, i've met even more people now because of this damn thing!

although that does raise an interesting question of how you meet people you know, is it primarily in one way (clubs, work, on the street, pubs, classes, online, on holiday) or a variety of these, and are some better than others?

yes but gareth its not human contact people are potentially seeking by revealling themselves behind a type face - its surely just a protective barrier that lets people be over emotive or adopt a facade (unless you mean you hook up in the flesh with people on ILE in which case i believ this is a way of meeting likeminded people)

btw out of the places to meet and which is superior - the pub / club - they serve alchahol and loud music QED

1) I'm quite bored at work sometimes, but ILE is more than just a boredom killer.

2) I'm not a sensitive intellectual. I like people, so chatting on the internet is nice, as is chatting generally.

I'm just average.

oh i see, yes, maybe then. i have met about 20-25 people on ILE, other than that though i had just considered it a different form of contact. it can be quite difficult in day to day life to know people who i can discuss marc acardipane, dj sneak, victor pelevin or the cars that ate paris, even when you know a lot of people.

in that case, i do look mainly at work, but some of the discussions are very interesting to me, and i do pop into an internet cafe on the way home to carry on! was easier when i had my own pc, hopefully getting another one soon

as for 'sensitive intellectual', well, ahem, maybe!
