It isn't so much that I dislike his work - it just conjures up that era that I dislike. It feels too slick. I want noise. I want disharmony. A slap in the face. Koons smells too much of money - a rip-off. Maybe he isn't (although I am inclined to think he is), and maybe that shouldn't be relevant in my assessment of the work itself (because hell I like Warhol!), but it has dollar signs written all over it. In many ways Koons is like cheap pornography to me. But I've grown to understand the message behind it more.

I love the Koons. I really do. I think its funny hes gets mentioned so often here, I didnt think he was that relevant to the zeitgeist . Is that because irony is hiding under the bed?. who cares I love rabbits and flowers and shiny things. more of that.
