from what i hear via boston folks, his boston accent is solid. apparently his "rhodesian" accent was close to spot-on?

I don't think it's the quality of the accents so much as he always sounds identifiably like himself that triggers this awareness that this is an actor playing a character instead of him disappearing into it.

i recall reading an article about irish accents in film back around the time of 'the devil's own' in the late '90s and the irish folks they talked to said pitt's accent was not bad. they lolled @ tom cruise's lucky charms accent in 'far and away', though.
