Yeah so I know that I probably left your favorite off the list, but you know what this is about me and my needs, so feel free to suggest something but if you get all "HOW COULD YOU FORGET JACK AND COKES" well you are on the wrong thread and also you suck.

My dad makes a great mojito. It's very simple but it requires patience: just sugar, mint, lots of lime. Press and add club soda. Keep stirring.

just sayin, Monday, 7 June 2010 15:26 (sixteen years ago)

Mojitos are redeemed by the inherent coolness of being Cuban. I suppose that drinking several gin & tonics is one of the more civilized ways to get drunk when it is warm out as well.

Protect family from germs of disease (KMS), Monday, 7 June 2010 17:36 (sixteen years ago)

Important summer drink-related question: where in the TC area do I purchase good bloody mary thx

╓abies, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 02:51 (sixteen years ago)

I've tried to make them in the past but they were shockingly bad, every time.

╓abies, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 02:52 (sixteen years ago)

I am a big fan of zingzang mix, which seems to be available in a fair amount of liquor stores.

Adolf Hipster (jjjusten), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 03:14 (sixteen years ago)

When I'm making a bloody mary, I take 1 part vodka, 2 parts store-bought tomato juice, juice of half of a lemon freshly squeezed, four or five healthy shakes of worcestershire sauce, two or three drops of tabasco sauce and a dash of black pepper. I shake the whole thing in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into an old-fashioned glass with four or five ice cubes in it.

Had a rum and grapefruit juice last night with just a small splash out of the maraschino cherry jar, mighty good.

Also, to hell with muddling, I'm going to pick a bale of mint and infuse some simple syrup.

NUDE. MAYNE. (s1ocki), Wednesday, 9 June 2010 22:34 (fifteen years ago)

btw that thing is not called a sidecar. i have no idea what it is named.

apparently not the band, but the lifestyle (jjjusten), Wednesday, 9 June 2010 22:35 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, a sidecar is cognac, orange liquer and lemon juice. A great cocktail, but it definitely doesn't involve vodka or lemonade concentrate, although I'm not exactly sure what lemon concentrate is. I'm guessing it is the frozen stuff that comes in those little cans and is mixed with water to make pitchers of lemonade.
