How dateable are you?

You can answer this question generally, or with special reference to the latest test at thespark.com.

I am 67% dateable, which sounded OK till I discovered that only 32% of those who had taken the test so far were less dateable than me. I blame it on not being American. It's not one of thespark's best efforts.

Mild congratulations, you are...

65% dateable! You are neither more not less dateable than your peers-- welcome to the land of mediocrity, home of the masses! You have an undeniable animal magnetism, but you're just as likely to attract small animals as you are to attract human beings. Nevertheless, the people you flirt with generally find you funny and cute, or "fute." You have good hygiene, which is an imporant aspect of relationships involving two or more people. Avoid seafood and walks in the woods.

Actually, I did better than I thought I would. In real life I'd say I'm 25% dateable.

Damn, Rico! You are...

83% dateable! Attractive and confident, witty and charming, a healthy ambrosia-based diet... you're wanted in the 48 contiguous states, you slayer. Call me. Seduce me. Make me a woman (or man.) Not only do you know how to turn a girl's (or guy's) engines on, but you also know how to oil, lube and rotate it. You put the "elation" back into "relationship," and the "night" back into "one-night stand."

Dan Perry, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

PS: (people more dateable than you (3%)
people just as dateable as you (3%)
people less dateable than you (92%))

Dan Perry, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Why did you post it then?

78% dateable, more dateable than 76% of people.

This is a rubbish test.

Graham, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got bored halfway through, which is like spitting into a date's face or something I suppose.

Tom, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 72% dateable. I am confused as to why this has to do with the movie swimf@n, though.

Mandee, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

PHEAR MY DATEABILITY! MWAHAHAHAH!

(PS: Please don't tell Joei.)

Dan Perry, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Evidently 90% of people are more dateable than me. And that's without their having seen or smelled me yet.

nabisco%%, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 83% dateable too! Hurrah!

C J, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

This really is a rubbish test. After the first few nonsense questions I gave up. I am very dateable though. Single too!

Sean, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

("C'mon, baby ... was it something I clicked?")

nabisco%%, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am intrinsically dateable. Beyond that, however, things get fuzzy.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"smart but hairy"

Graham, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

68% dateable. Dastoor and I are clearly perfect human beings, but I live in America thus it is a failed test in general.

Dave M., Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

80%. If this test is so accurate why an I spending so much time on ILX? Anyone free tonight for a movie???

brg30, Monday, 15 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I posted it cause I thought it could broaden out into a wider discussion, grouchygraham. Did anyone see Would Like To Meet last night. He made me cry! But he did have a dreamy smile, so I knew it would all be all right in the end. Another success. I hate that point in WLTM where they pass from being tragic to being suddenly more socially confident than me (ie. engaging random strangers in non- mentalist conversation).

They should provide the WLTM service on the NHS.

N., Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree...but I think he bacame too confident. The girl really liked him, and now he's just another heart breaker. (I think he really fancied the 'lifecoach' ladies).

jel --, Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

C'mon - he was just being honest. Why lead her on if it's not happening for him?

N., Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

NB. I don't engage random strangers in mentalist conversation. I engage them in no conversation. I'm just saying it's easy for the socially insensitive to spout rubbish at people but that doesn't count.

N., Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The thing that worries me about that transition point in WLTM is the implication that going up and talking to completely random people is the norm and I that I am a complete social inadequate for being totally incapable of doing it. Is this the norm? Did I miss out on some vitally important piece of socialisation somewhere along the way or what?

RickyT, Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I need this lifecoach thing coz N. is right, he was just being honest. I would just feel evil about saying stuff about the date on TV. Yes, I'm surprised that they didn't get the guy to go up to random women and say "how you doing" (cf joey from friends).

It's the whole 'meeting people is easy' fallacy that annoys me about the show.

jel --, Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

after the first questions i just started clicking randlomly. 62%

Chupa-Cabras, Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 37% dateable. 98% of people are more dateable than me. but i like it this way.

di, Thursday, 18 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Have you been to the DMV????

felicity, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i refuse to take your silly test in case it tells me the truth on ethical grounds. hey di, how does bowling followed double malteds at the juke-joint sound?

petra jane, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got 69%. Excellent. 69 is the funniest number ever.

Emma, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got 72 per cent meaning I am highly dateable (got the same comments as Dan). But they called me J-Lo! I am hurt beyond all possible belief.

Anna, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

68% dateable - i hope my girlfriend doesnt read this as there are a whole 60% more off the population dateable than me

although i do really wanna see a film now - maybe swimf@n or something swimilar hahahahhaha

born clippy, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

66. meh

Alan T, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

80%! yea, right. i'm friend material, and i don't need a boring test to tell me that!

gareth, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The test just doesn't like you that way, Gareth. But you two can still hang out!

Nicole, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

'i'm friend material, and i don't need a boring test to tell me that!

-- gareth '

You mean you irritate the fuck out of everyone you meet by screeching and waving your arms at them? Or just that every sentence you utter is a question (AQI)?

(I'm assuming that by 'friend' you are referring to that inordinately irksome TV 'comedy' prog).

Tim Bateman, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

um, tim, i have no idea what you are talking about!

gareth, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey, Di is just as repulsive as me! Hooray!

nabisco%%, Friday, 19 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hey di, how does bowling followed double malteds at the juke-joint sound?

wow, this chick who looks like jane dodd wants to take me bowling. see, this test is WRONG!
