what was the best piece of clothing you got as a present, and what was the worst?

a friend of mine once found a shirt for me which fitted perfectly well and has some weird striped design that I'm still wearing to day or that pair of posh checked trousers from a famous old dutch designer which someone found for me for one almost nothing on the flee-market.

do friends/ family buy you clothes?

Best: my nice biker-style leather jacket, from my then-wife.

Worst: any of a number of purchases by my mother. The ensemble that leaps to mind was a colour-coordinated set in burgundy/purple: corduroy trousers and jackets, plus shirt and tie that didn't quite match. Truly grotesque.

Um, I permanently borrowed a t-shirt from my then-girlfriend that fits better than anything I could actually go out and buy. Does that count?

Friends and family typically don't buy me clothes. My friend Freddie once gave me an unbelievably great black and white leather jacket that looks like something Ric Ocasek would have worn circa "Candy-O"... i guess he later decided he'd rather impress another friend, took it back, and gave it to him. I was a little annoyed.
