WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT CHILD'S EYE?

Last night my right eyelid started hurting and is a little red and puffy. Is that what a sty feels like? Sucks. No goop though.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT CHILD'S EYE?

Conjunctivitis - had it once as a kid, the doctor prescribed some pink cream stuff to put in the effected eye.

^ yeah my niece had this as a baby. it was manky but didn't really bother her all that much besides iirc.

dry sty in the eye is a pain.

someone stole your eyeballs and replaced them with other eyeballs while you slept and now your body is attempting to reject the foreign organs

was talking about this recently. apparently they usually only give one eye per recipient. so i was wondering if the two people with orbach's eyes could tell if they happened to meet.

mizzell, Wednesday, 1 September 2010 17:23 (fourteen years ago) link

each orbach eye could look at the other orbach eye with a sort of wry detachment

This morning one of my eyes was practically crusted shut. No goop. Just hardened sleepies. It happened the night before but not so serious. I'm thinking it may have something to do with sleeping in my contacts and squirting lots of lens drops right before I go to sleep. Whatever it is it was kinda cool having that much hardened sleepies and I should keep them in a jar (calvin and hobbes type reference)

i'll be ok, in fact i'm mostly just thinking about my cat rupee, who upon adoption was suffering a very serious case of kennel cough (kennel flu more like) that was responsible for copious amounts of goop to be constantly leaking from her nose. anyway we called her goopee during this trying time, and to this day the nickname still remains despite her now relatively goopfree nose

del griffith, Wednesday, 1 September 2010 18:57 (fourteen years ago) link

sleeping in my contacts

always a bad idea, imo

mh, Wednesday, 1 September 2010 19:20 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah contacts are pretty small arent they? you would really need to squish yourself

thank you ill be herr all night

dayo, Wednesday, 1 September 2010 22:56 (fourteen years ago) link

Lorax are they contacts you're "allowed" to sleep in? If not then DON'T DO IT. I wouldn't even do it with the ones they tell you it's OK to sleep in tbh. I used to do this all the time and eventually got something called corneal neovascularization which, if it gets really bad, can make it so you can never wear contacts. Thankfully they caught mine before it got to that point and I now wear daily lenses. Trust me, you don't want to fuck with your eyes.

o sh!t a ˁ˚ᴥ˚ˀ (ENBB), Wednesday, 1 September 2010 22:59 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah, my optometrist thinks contacts that claim you can sleep in them are bs

mh, Wednesday, 1 September 2010 23:23 (fourteen years ago) link

five years pass...

^^^^^ learning this the hard way. Mine, while not extended wear, have been indicated as contacts you can sleep in, and yet I've now had two corneal abrasions this year due to doing that and taking them out. I got lovely eye drops today for this.

Three eye infections/abrasions in same eye this year, looks like it's time for the opthomologist.

the weird thing tho is I used to sleep in mine all the time, then stopped once I got similar symptoms five years ago. now only do it once in a blue moon, but the last two times I slept in them (not on purpose, sometimes I jsut fell asleep w/ them in) I got an abrasion in my right eye both times.

they also found cataracts in my eyes (I'm 35!!!). fuck...but not in field of vision.

I hate eyes...and life!
