I found this guy when I was...well, I think I was doing a google image search for "garga" many months ago, but I have no idea why I would do that.
all I know is that the original image was from this apparently defunct Bulgarian blog. it was titled "garga.jpg" ("ГАРГА/garga" means "crow" in Bulgarian), and it was used to illustrate a blog post about a fashion house called Рошавата гарга ("Roshavata garga"). as far as I can tell, the image has no real connection to the fashion house. it's just a neat cartoon crow twiddling its fingers with an expression of ironic/detached amusement on its face. it kinda has a '50s-'60s Warner Brothers or Hanna-Barbera look to it (cf. the drunk stork from Looney Toons or the birds that the Flintstones used as household appliances). on the other hand it might just be an anonymous and untraceable clip art.
anyways, does anyone know where (tv show, comic strip, etc.) it comes from?

"kara karga" means "black crow" in Turkish, but the Cypriot pronunciation would be more like "kara garga". it's unclear whether K4r4G4rg4 is run by Turkish Cypriots.

I'd never heard of the Geedis mystery but I enjoyed that article.
It also got me thinking that when I was a kid my grandparents' next door neighbour drew art which ended up on kids' lunchboxes and thermos flasks and so on. Maybe in a corner of the internet there's someone looking at one of his designs wishing they knew more about whoever drew it.
To my shame, he gave me one of his lunchboxes with a well-painted but very twee and girly image on it, and since I was a horrible little tomboy who wanted something cool and boyish like a space battle or Thundercats or something on it instead, I tried to scratch the picture off. Sorry about that...
