I wonder if this is one of those things so uncool that it becomes cool to do

dayo, Wednesday, 23 March 2011 00:53 (fifteen years ago)

hipsters who wear fanny packs

dayo, Wednesday, 23 March 2011 00:53 (fifteen years ago)

VegemiteGrrl, Wednesday, 23 March 2011 01:03 (fifteen years ago)

I think this could be cool if you had a flip phone, but if you have a smartphone its just dumb

dayo, Wednesday, 23 March 2011 01:05 (fifteen years ago)

Don't forget the guy with mobile phone on the belt (or sometimes just carrying in hand) with bluetooth earpiece on all fucking day long.

My union rep wears a union mobile, a home mobile, a work Blackberry and a work beeper all clipped to his pants in various ways. He also uses a handsfree thing and wears multiple lanyards displaying his various credentials. And he's about 6'6" and prob weighs ~170. I can't even talk to him, I am in such awe of the striking figure he cuts.

that's awesome. he sounds like a one man band of electronic devices. Anything strapped to his knees, perchance?

VegemiteGrrl, Wednesday, 23 March 2011 02:32 (fifteen years ago)

I know a few frazzled, busy, snappy sysadmins/network admins like that. Theyre basically on call 94/7 and do way too much, but they secretly enjoy nerding it up even tho they are all Sarcastic Comic Book Guy to everyone all the time.

Borads of Candida (Trayce), Wednesday, 23 March 2011 02:39 (fifteen years ago)

some of the taxi drivers here have 5-6 mobile phones ducttaped to their dashboards, and they wear 3 bluetooth earpieces per ear

it's pretty awesome

Both with the Nextel I had to carry and the walkie when I was working film, I remember they always got clipped in my back pocket - it was the only part of my waist unclaimed back then. I always had shitloads of stuff in my front pockets and it was always the simplest, most elegant way of dealing with that annoying extra electronic leash and its extra weight.

So she posts on ILX?

I have never even contemplated doing it. I put it in my pocket. As a result that pocket wears much quicker.
