I would wear multiple legwarmers and legwarmers in two different colors. I also had lace fingerless gloves and bangle bracelets and plastic jelly shoes. I was fucking styling.

I think the most pathetic thing I ever wore was a pink jumpsuit. My friend spilled some coke on it. (The drink, sadly not the drug.) I think she wanted to put me out of my misery/jumpsuit. It worked.

Remember those shirts that changed color in the sun? Hypercolor, I think they were called. They were awful, because they'd wear out and then you'd just have a blotchy shirt, half of it sun color the other half dark color. Argh!

Actually, I just want to note that legwarmers are now somewhat cool again in my hipster neighborhood. But very "edgy" cool. Like art- school punk girl cool.

Also, the problem with Hypercolor -- which you'd think they would have been revolted by before ever trying to market the things -- was that they reflected the heat distribution of your torso, meaning their color patterns were pretty much identical to sweat stains. People would wear them on chilly days and you'd still have to look at horrible drippy underarm-splotches and back-triangles.

Best 80s shoes = Kangaroos. I never got a pair so I hollowed out a space beneath the pad of my sneakers using a pocketknife and used that as a secret pocket instead.
