The most "shocking" episode I ever saw after school as a kid was when Rob took an art class with Beatnik girl and she made a pass at him. The ep is Draw Me a Pear.

I watched a few second-season Van Dyke shows this week; there's one where Buddy and Sally are doing a nightclub act, and RM's vocal phrasing is nearly unchanged from when she was a child star circa 1929.
