Chris Hayes is taking over Ed Schultz's 8pm weeknight slot. Kind of bummed. I liked the 2 hour format and the long discussions it allowed.

Better than an alarm clock on Sat and Sunday morns.

I record Up or just watch it online. It also neatly contains my msnbc watching to two days a week. I like that they can look back on a story and discuss it rather than covering the daily bullshit. I hope it stays a panel.

Kornacki can be okay-ish on election breakdowns sometimes, but other than that there is nothing good about The Cycle from what I've seen.

I'll miss Up, but anything that gets Ed Schultz off the air is a good thing.

Oh I just saw he's getting a weekend evening show. Ungh.

hayes is smart and usually right on but he's smug and annoying as fuck

he's not nearly as smug as the rest of this crew. i enjoyed his book Twilight of the Elites. and he's a better listener/conversationalist than Maddow or fucking Melissa Harris-Perry (glad she's gone).

i can't watch rachel maddow for even a minute anymore. i can't hear her voice. it drives me nuts. what happened?

i mean i watch morning joe in the morning now but i can't take even a sliver of maddow.

Morning Joe was always pretty terrible but they've accidentally spun closer to reality over the years.

I really like the Why Is This Happening? podcast when I remember to listen to it. I appreciate hearing a discussion of our current reality that manages to make me feel better informed but also slightly saner.
