Pete and I (and Carsmile and other ppl who dont post here hello lurkaz) went and paid good money to see whole reels of old AdvertXoR at the ICA today. It was ace! They have driven today's puny specimens from my mind - none can match the grandeur of OLD JAMAICA with pirates.

My favorite new/old ad was seen at the Cadbury factory in Dunedin, when they showed some ad from the 1970s for Crunchie bars. When the Nazis showed up to try and blow up the Old West train carrying the bars, I knew I was in heaven.

First Ave (near Battery) still has a huge mylackey.com ad painted on the side of a building- "Trust fund not required." It's so high up- and you have to standing on the east side of the road, facing south, to see it at all- that I wonder how many people even know it's there anymore.

Im not a hata so i only say that the new Guarana Antarctica ad with Ronaldo shaving his head cos the animation of Cascão says its a copy from his. And the Cavalera newspaper ad with just this pic of two women in purple clothes smiling and "Latin America's original trend: Since 1995" written. I guess its so different from other fashion ads that i jsut cant help to like it

it really is amazing that they STILL run that barenaked ladies/mitsubishi ad. 9 months ago i was thinking SURELY this must end soon.

now i expect "days go by and still i think of you..." mitsubishi ad will be fazed out in late 2005.

OH and the worst part of the BL ad is when the dude puts in a little vibrato when he sings along to the word "sayin'"

Agreed on the Mitsubishi hipster shit.......and any of the precious "inspiring" unity ones where they go from person to person (usually different countries) staring at the camera, each of them going "I am ___________"......usually for a fuckin murderin theivin BANK no less.......anything with skateboards or snowboards, and I hate people that don't have a problem with these ones......these people probably don't understand why SNL's skit about KFC "shredders" (the X-Treme lettuce treat!) is funny......I want to throttle yall with Avril Lavigne's necktie........the ads for Girls Gone Wild on BET late night because it reminds me I have to go buy or bootleg the newest tape pronto, and when the hell have GGW tapes ever had black chicks.......yo but I love the Tampax one with that adorable chick with that hilarious voice that says "ya cant even FEEL em!".....she sounds like that My Little Pony underboss, whatever the fuck HER name was.....Telemundo shits and the Orkin man copping an attitude are teh bomb as well

I have grown to wuv the Zum zum zum advert - mostly because I like to imagine Harry Hill singing it in a kind of Heather Small voice.

That yoghurt ad about "good kinds of bacteria" is rubbish though. And the Levis "Rub yourself". And that one about how "OK" is the most popular word in the world, and wouldn't it be better if "What if" was instead? And the Argos one with REG. And the one for Welch's fruit drinks.

The Elevenses ad with the woman who keeps saying "Just typical"... "oh, typical - a healthy snack, it's bound to taste... ohhh". Why in heaven's name would you buy something in the expectation that it was going to taste foul?

Oh, and the BT broadband ad - simply because it looks like it cost £10million to make and WHERE DID THAT COME FROM, EH? From sneaking an extra fiver onto my (bog standard) line rental and hoping I wouldn't notice (true fact), that's where.

I have to say all car commercials. they rarely show the cars doing what they will really be doing ie sitting in a traffic jam. if a traffic jam is displayed, the commercial implies that by owning such and such a car, these jams will be avoided, and the purchaser will be able to drive 5 minutes out of the city and arrive at a glacier or the grand canyon.
