I discovered the wonderful world of ILE yesterday while searching for Tipped over Portaloo anecdotes (long story). I have done absolutely no work since and it's piling up on my desk. I am gonna get fired I know it, if not for slacking then surely I will eventually get caught by the email police! I'm hooked, what should I do?

There is no hope left for you.

I tried to get out, but they kept pulling me back in!

wrap yourself in a blanket
hide under your desk
try not to let your immediate supervisors hear the chattering of your teeth

Technique chosen by one poster we know:

1. set up your browser so ILx requires a password
2. Choose really long and complex password you could never remember.
3. Write the password down on a piece of paper
4. Rip the piece of paper up into a million pieces and cast them to the four winds.

5. Wait for ILx to move to a new web address.
6. Start posting again.
7. Accept doom.

take a deep breath, looke outside, do some work, check back, ILE is still there! repeat until ILE viewing is at a manageable level.

this week it's been good for me, coz I haven't had access to a work computer for the last two days, and have been sitting in my new easy chair strategically positioned to be obscured from view by book selves.
