What should I take out of the video library?

I can't even begin to describe how they might be choosing their stock, they have very little I've heard of (They do have Big though, but that was on TV the other week), but I want to take advantage of it, it's like Audiogalaxy but legal and for videos and without the downloading and lost connections and stuff.

Random films of the last 30 years (with some tenuous educational justification for them having got them in), please.

(and which Doctor Who is Nick in? They've got lots of those)

I've just tried to find The Thing, allegedly it's in but I can't find it.

Graham (graham), Monday, 30 September 2002 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

'Mouchette'. Well, it was in one of the video shops that I belong to (admittedly it's the arty vid shop in Notting Hill, but you never know...)

Alternatively, 'Tenebrae'. Any vid shop worth it's salt has at least one Dario Argento vid in stock.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 30 September 2002 15:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Cria Cuervos! Then you can hear the grebt Jeanette track porque te vas rar rar.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 30 September 2002 15:42 (twenty-three years ago)

They don't have Mouchette, Tenebrae is in but I can't find it, and Cria Cuervous is out. More random films!

They don't have that Doctor Who.

I've found American Beauty and I haven't seen that so it'll do. It's weird I can't wind those other things. Perhaps I should a-a-ask?

Funny Games, but lock your door ok.

donna (donna), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 05:42 (twenty-three years ago)

American Beauty was v.good, though the twist at the end was unnecessary.

No Jacob's Ladder, Meet The Feebles or Funny Games. The Devils is in but I doubt I'll be able to find it and I'm in the wrong library today.

You might be able to search it for yourself here.

Ou Ou! I was getting Harvey (Top Best one from So Solid Crew docco) Amores Perres (That's that thing that late night Lauren Laverne clip show was about, right?), and the guy reminded me I'd reserved Cria Cuervos. And that Jeanette song is fantastic. Sarah, tell me everything you know about it!

I am in Dr Who?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 10:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Donnie Darko. So far, everyone I've convinced to see it has thanked me for it. Great music, too.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 11:18 (twenty-three years ago)

BRING IT ON!!!

katie (katie), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 11:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh, I was thinking of buying that one Katie.

(they don't have either here)

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 11:24 (twenty-three years ago)

(graham you can get it in the HMV sale! GET IT GO ON YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!)

katie (katie), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 11:27 (twenty-three years ago)

american beauty is cool, good choice. the 'twist' made more sense and was less pointless in early versions of the script, they hatcheted it up when they shot/edited it. yes, i am a geek.

Arf!

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 14:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know Nick, just something I heard.

Your dad is in Cria Cuervos though:

Aw, daddy.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 10 October 2002 09:24 (twenty-three years ago)

KTEE! I just bought BRING IT ON! It wasn't even in the HMV sale and they wanted £19.99, but they had for £9.99 in the dodgy Music Zone place.

But frankly, your knowledge of entertainment retail disappoints.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 10 October 2002 13:11 (twenty-three years ago)

1) I don't think my N.'s dad picture got the credit it deserved [only for effort if nothing else]
2) Cria Cuervos was due back today and I listened that song on it about 10 times last night and decided I had to minidisc it.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 23 October 2002 10:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Fame!

Which is what I watched last night. Is the dead Freddie guy Ralph goes on about anyone real and/or famous? It's not Freddie Starr, is it?

(more suggestions too please)
