FAP Seattle: Sunday Oct. 6th, noon to 3pm at the Green Cat Cafe

Actually, it's more like an FAB (Fancy a Brunch)...

Here is the 411 on the Green Cat Cafe, and here is where it is.

I'll be DJing there from noon to 3pm, which is why I figure it would be a convenient place to do an FAP Seattle thing. I'll more likely be more talkative before and after the DJing, for obvious reasons.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 30 September 2002 18:38 (twenty-three years ago)

100 points to the first person to throw donuts at DB while he's spinning! (10,000 points to the first person to throw bitches.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 30 September 2002 18:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Do we get to trade the points in for anything cool?

lyra (lyra), Monday, 30 September 2002 19:47 (twenty-three years ago)

You get prizes in the form of Dan luv.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 00:17 (twenty-three years ago)

how many milliliters of dan luv do you get for 10,000 pts

ron (ron), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 00:20 (twenty-three years ago)

As much as you can...well, anyway.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 00:25 (twenty-three years ago)

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 01:15 (twenty-three years ago)

so how will we know each other? everyone will walk up to b. and then he will point you towards the appropriate table. who's coming? i will be there, probably not for that whole time

ron (ron), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 02:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I will try to come at 11 & stay for a bit (2 FAPs in 1 week, on opposite coasts- it would be silly to miss this one!). I have black wire glasses & shortish blond hair & look like a total nerd when surrounded by Cap Hill hipsters, so I'm sure I'll stand out.

lyra (lyra), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 04:12 (twenty-three years ago)

i might be in the mood for a seattle fap around march or april time too

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 07:40 (twenty-three years ago)

that's a good idea to come earlier, i will try to do same. donut may be available for talking then. i'm pretty sure there's a picture of me on several threads, like the 'aw fuck it what do you look like' one

ron (ron), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 13:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Ron, I remember what you look like... Lyra, I think I saw a partial pic, so I'll have to go with your description.. although, I think the "total nerd" is the Capitol Hill hipster look these days, am I wrong?

Gareth! I'm glad to hear you might want to come 'round these parts. :)

donut bitch (donut), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 15:27 (twenty-three years ago)

yea, if the east coast one works out ok, i'm going to do a west coast one in the spring, and then a central one in summer/autumn (um, i mean fall)

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 15:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay Gareth! More travellers are a good thing. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 18:52 (twenty-three years ago)

This is a small sampling of stuff I'll be spinning, as well as a smidgen of hip hop, on-u sound, post punk, and other things.
I'll make sure whatever it is will be hangover friendly.

Just another friendly reminder :)

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 4 October 2002 17:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Donut Bitch, a question.

I was in Seattle a few years ago, and a girl called Annette took me to the Green Cat Cafe. I know it's a long shot, but do you know her?. We lost touch.

kinski (kinski), Saturday, 5 October 2002 11:48 (twenty-three years ago)

i just saw yr post here (re: coldplay) lyra ;-) see y'all tomorrow

ron (ron), Saturday, 5 October 2002 15:28 (twenty-three years ago)

MY BEAUTIFUL DUNKIN DONUT: UNFORTUNATELY IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE I'M GONNA MAKE IT TOMORROW: THE CHEAP BUSES ONLY RUN ON SAT. I WEEP A SINGLE TEAR AND PLAY KLAUS NOMI RECORDS IN YOUR HONOR. K LOVE YOU. TTFN.

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 5 October 2002 16:26 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know Annette unfortunately, but I do know Kinski, the band.

Ron: yay!

Jess: crap. Ah well. Maybe next time.

donut bitch (donut), Saturday, 5 October 2002 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

we done do'd it! it was a pleasure to meet both lyra and mr. donut. sadly, the plastic bertrand was not played, but db has promised to make amends...

i ran into db a second time today at the pizza shop, but i was babbling incoherently about the crust and i'm sure i left him quite concerned about my mental state.

i had seriously considered bringing a donut to throw, but i did not. so, final score: 0,0,0 can we please each have an ilx home game as consolation prize

ron (ron), Sunday, 6 October 2002 21:58 (twenty-three years ago)

:(

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 6 October 2002 21:59 (twenty-three years ago)

i took a nap today. party!

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 6 October 2002 22:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i had seriously considered bringing a donut to throw

Is that like dwarf tossing? Donut is not all that small.

Nicole (Nicole), Sunday, 6 October 2002 22:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Were you babbling abt goopy NY style pizza crusts? I'm going to try the new pizza place down here later, it'll be interesting to see if they follow the Pagliacci model or the Piecora's model.
I had fun- it was a great morning, even without some plastic bertrand. DB now just needs to DJ some Saturday morning brunch so that the Olympia contingent can be in attendence. :- )

lyra (lyra), Sunday, 6 October 2002 23:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay! Thanks, Lyra, Ron, for coming out. I apologize for being slightly spastic.. as I was kinda running late, and I was also nervous, believe it or not. I will be far more composed the next time something happens. And something WILL HAPPEN AGAIN SOON!

I brought Le Bertrand because I assumed punkish type stuff was fair game for playing, but I found out it wasn't, necessarily. :( But I will digitize it, and make sure you guys get to hear the record, because it is quite fun.

Did you guys see the protest march? It was HHUUGGGEEE!!

donut bitch (donut), Sunday, 6 October 2002 23:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, ron... I had a calzone this time... so the grand Pagliacci pizza crush case study will have to wait until my next proper lunchtime pizza cravin'. That said, the only thing I notice is that the U-district Pag's has spicier pizza sauce. The Lower Queen Anne Pag's has a TRIVIA QUESTION you can answer to get a free soda; hence, that's the best Pagliacci's.... (Why isn't there a Pag's in Belltown? 2nd Ave. Pizza is open, like, 30 minutes a day)

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:02 (twenty-three years ago)

it's just that something odd was happening with the pagliacci crust today. it was missing salt or something - just not right

ron (ron), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe that explains the HUGE PROTEST!

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:25 (twenty-three years ago)

You didn't seem spastic, just more awake than I was. And I'd already had two cups of coffee! I didn't see the huge protest, but supposedly it was 5,000 people: http://www.komotv.com/stories/20674.htm

There's no Pagliacci's in Belltown b/c there's Belltown Pizza & Zeke's; neither is very good, but Zeke's Puget Pounder style is the Official Monday Night Football Pizza (abt two inches of of ham + sausage + pepperoni topping).

lyra (lyra), Monday, 7 October 2002 03:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone's crazy about Zeek's. I don't get it. And Belltown needs to have a middle ground.. it's either really exquisite, or really run-down. That one block on 2nd between Bell and Blanchard is the only area I frequent, though.

Well... either way, I'm glad you guys had fun. :)
