Wonder if there's a way to see it the other way? I might ask some techier friends if there's a way of seeing by tracks played

I think it's been deliberately set up that way so as to avoid people skewing the charts by playing their idols constantly

I think actually it's coz I mainly scrobble at work, where I have access to Spotify, and my listening tends to be, "Ok, let's listen to this weird random album that someone on ILX/the erol forum/twitter has just namechecked..." while I'm more likely to do my comfort listening at home.

The Paisley (shop) Window Pane (Masonic Boom), Friday, 30 October 2009 13:01 (fourteen years ago) link

Haha Kate, I think it's obvious that comparisons like that between ilxors will automatically gravitate toward the more "stereopically ILM-ish" ends of our tastes than whatever unique discrepencies in taste we might have.

It's on spotify, giving it a go now. Not sure it's my sort of thing but I'm attempting to expand what constitutes my sort of thing.

totally agree w/this - i think the sequencing on the EPs is way better too, the songs on each one are a natural fit for each other.

on a mac you get a circumflex by going alt+i and then whatever letter you want the circumflex on. (alt+u for umlauts, alt+e for acute accents, alt+n for tildes &c &c)

autogooner (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 8 November 2009 13:48 (fourteen years ago) link

Considering half his own promotional materials don't bother with the accent, I think the proper action is to chill. He'd probably want it that way.

The Reverend, Sunday, 8 November 2009 14:11 (fourteen years ago) link

I mean, getting uptight over whether a letter has an accent above it seems contrary to the spirit of Dam-Funk. Just sayin.

hmm will this pointless thing work?

that is ny, a grime/r&b singer/songwriter. she's amazing and everyone should check out her split endz vol 2 mixtape from a couple of years ago. helpfully it's on last.fm, albeit horribly tagged - http://www.last.fm/music/Ny/Split+Endz+Volume+2 ("gave you", "what i see", "worth the fight", "down low" and "no one ever cared" are particularly great - it's all awesome though)

she did my favourite single of last year too -

smartest interviewee i've ever had, too.

(my botched post was some widget which provides last.fm milestones - 5000th play, 10000th play etc. totes pointless.)
