i dunno about any of their other songs but cappacino by the knux is dope! Its the only throw back joint I've been really feeling. That Pacific Div Fat Boys joint is way boring and sounds just like every Cool Kids song except the dudes are passably better rappers than the Cool Kids. Noz's post I thought was on point for a sec but I dont really think rap needs to be tied to a 'real place' to be good or whatever, thats just not realistic. But yeah so far this post-myspace generic 'throwback' rap has been way underwhelming
'cappuccino' sounds great tho, the one guy kind of sounds like dude from camp lo and the hook sounds totally de la

I can see why one might think it sounds similar to Cool Kids, but I think there's certainly room for "similar to, but much better than". Other than the Fat Boys reference, and maybe their image, which I could give a fuck about, I'm not sure what's supposed to be retro about this, tho. If anything, the aesthetic strikes me as hyphy reconciling with medium rap. None of the other songs I've heard by them sound like that, anyway.
I will give you that the Knux song is better, tho. (Actually, their image is way more obnoxious to me than Pac Div's.)

so when Lil Jon's next album actually finally comes out, is he gonna change the name to Crunk Disco or something??? Crunk rock seems like two or three hip hop trends ago doesn't it?
this is getting weird and awesome though http://youtube.com/watch?v=0BBQLOppc4E

"If a ten-year-old can make 'Love in This Club' and save Usher's career and make black women want to f*ck him again, after they was done with him for getting married, then sh*t he's a genius just like me," Polow said. "I also wrote the hook - that's not a preset."
