This thread makes me very melancholy (but not infinitely sad). What was it that was so down about the 90's? Perhaps I also feel this way because of the wasted hours, days, years I spent listening to so much of this.

I'd just like to mention that Fastball headlined the last day of classes concert at my college in '99. The opening bands were Vertical Horizon and Naughty By Nature.

She was proto-Adult Alternative when no-one even knew the term existed. By the early 90s, she was all but forgotten. By the mid-90s, it took one song to rescue her from oblivion. Tracy Chapman, we salute you!

Who would tell they were, exactly a decade ago, the most mega, most popular, most over-exposed band of the US? Hootie & The Blowfish, we salute you!

Hold My Hand

(Yeah, with just one of their official videos YouTube'd. Goes to show my tribute question wasn't solely rhetorics...)

Ricardo (jaxxalude), Friday, 14 July 2006 18:38 (eighteen years ago) link

I wish somebody would put up Hootie's guest shot on TV Funhouse. Triumph insulted them. Good times.
