Dan was so wrong on this thread. "Like I Love You" is a classic song.

It was nice of him to apologize in the thread title though.

This song was such a monster especially in a club, people would run to the floor...

before I was seduced by the slithering groove of "Cry Me A River" alas.

You poor soul. (My views remain UNCHANGED YOU CLOTH-EARED MOR...wait, that's rude. *coughs*)

This song was such a monster especially in a club, people would run to the floor...

...for me to poop on.

Lovely thread, thought it referred to the NEW JT track, which is really awful and jerky. 'LILY' is class though. Fortunately I never pledged allegiance.

Enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 13 January 2004 10:03 (twenty years ago) link

This song, video, performance inspired me to start learning to be a better dancer. Everyone at uni would look for me to dance when this track came on. I watched the video over and over. I was one with Justin's (narrowly) best song, and I ended up loving Off The Wall and Thriller even more than I thought possible.

Still, Usher has to kick his ass. JT took so much from him, right down to the older woman.

This thread is madshit genius.

Barima (Barima), Tuesday, 13 January 2004 20:10 (twenty years ago) link

Any negative observ.s on the McDonald's Song are otm, though the girl in the video is buff.

Barima (Barima), Tuesday, 13 January 2004 20:10 (twenty years ago) link

Dan was so wrong on this thread. "Like I Love You" is a classic song.

The Beatles/Rolling Stones/Bob Dylan/Led Zepplin/Prince/Aretha Franklin/Elvis Presley/Beach Boys/[canonical artist that has reached "classic" status who still has vocal, dismissive critics' to thread.

To the UK: Justin HATES you (link updates regularly so I shall also cut and paste):

TIMBERLAKE PUNCHED IN THE FACE
Pop star Justin Timberlake was punched in the face by a fan as he walked into his end-of-tour party in London on Sunday.

The hunky singer was reportedly hit as he entered the Rex Club in Soho following the last date in his British tour, so he refused to come out and meet his many female fans waiting outside the venue for fear he would again be assaulted.

A source says, "All the girls were outside waiting for him and someone went to ask his people if he was coming out to sign autographs.

"One of his minders came out and said that Justin wouldn't be coming out. He said someone had hit him in the face as he went inside. Apparently he got a real crack as he walked in the place and he was worried he might get attacked again."

Inside the venue Justin told reporters, "It is just crazy over here in Britain, I f-- hate coming over here."

I knew that airline pass would come in handy.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:08 (twenty years ago) link

Let. it. go.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:12 (twenty years ago) link

I think Dan's last post says all that needs be said on the matter!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:14 (twenty years ago) link

Yeah, I should look up every Cure thread right now to restate with no elaboration how much they annoy me.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:15 (twenty years ago) link

But it's a Justin hate thread!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:18 (twenty years ago) link

Nicole, am I allowed to pour hatorade on The Cure in your Cure hate thread even if I don't actually hate them?

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 05:06 (twenty years ago) link

*scratches chin* Heck, maybe even I could join in. Damn pasty English bastards making me spend my money!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 05:08 (twenty years ago) link

It's not fun if you're not pained by it Ned.

Maybe a Chameleons hate thread.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 05:09 (twenty years ago) link

Justin told reporters, "It is just crazy over here in Britain, I f-- hate coming over here."

Am I the only one who's really cut up about that? *cries into tea and crumpets*

Stupid (Stupid), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 05:12 (twenty years ago) link

Maybe a Chameleons hate thread.

Badly dressed pretentious gits. To hell with 'em!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 05:12 (twenty years ago) link

I now have a mental image of someone setting out tea and crumpets solely to have something to cry into.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 13:20 (twenty years ago) link

(And back on topic, "I'm Lovin' It" is a horrific return to YEEEEEEEEEECH after releasing two singles that I actually liked. So yeah, that NEW JT song suck gigantic donkey balls.)

bah try this

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 13:56 (twenty years ago) link

Wow. I guess this confirms that the problem I have with "Cry Me A River" actually has nothing to do with JT and everything to do with the song.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 18:29 (twenty years ago) link

Whoa.

Barima (Barima), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 18:33 (twenty years ago) link

Also, the idea JT could hate the UK is so funny considering his addiction to Bond Street. Even my dad recognised him flouncing around Gucci last month.

Barima (Barima), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 18:51 (twenty years ago) link

Actually, I could be reacting to the fact that dude sounds HORRIBLE singing it.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 22:12 (twenty years ago) link

Ha ha, Dan sounds just like Randy Jackson in that last post!

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 22:25 (twenty years ago) link

Yo dawg, that wasn't good, yo. But hey, you did your thing.

Randy Jackson (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 22:36 (twenty years ago) link

*thinks to self 'Randy Jackson?', googles*

Hm. So what's he like, then?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 15 January 2004 00:53 (twenty years ago) link

Everytime I see someone refer to Timberlake as "JT" here, I think of the lead singer of Kool & the Gang.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 15 January 2004 14:43 (twenty years ago) link

So what's he like, then?

He refers to people "dude" and "dawg" a lot. "dude sounds HORRIBLE singing it" sounds very Randy Jackson, except Dan probably should have thrown in a reference to his work with Whitney and Mariah.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 15 January 2004 14:46 (twenty years ago) link

Yo dawg, when I recorded "Dream Lover" with Mariah, she was just KILLIN' it, dude. She did her thing! Now, I didn't love the song, but you did your thing, so it's all good. Next time pick a different song, dawg.

Randy Jackson (Dan Perry), Thursday, 15 January 2004 14:49 (twenty years ago) link

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Saturday, 21 February 2004 01:09 (twenty years ago) link

Timberlake is rubbish and ugly.

the blissfox, Saturday, 21 February 2004 11:56 (twenty years ago) link
