Brilliant! Well done mzui, I had every faith.

Thanks to y'all for being patient, I'm working through the list this week a few at a time so hang in there.

Kudos to K1T for sending me a mint quality copy of the Sydney Faith tour recording, and especially to Josh for the fantastic artwork, they make a very handsome set, so much so that I think when I print the next batch of covers I'll do it in better qualty paper...

I mentioned upthread that I'm considering a New Order '80-'89 2 CD set, so get thinking about tracks peeps.

mzui (mzui), Monday, 30 January 2006 17:49 (eighteen years ago) link

You have, of course, posted the furthest-away earliest...

May I ask again if anyone here likes me enough to make me a copy. Just let me know what I have to do, on your own time. Thanks for all your work mzui.

matt2 (matt2), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 14:12 (eighteen years ago) link

I guess we can talk about that soon, when all 15 have gone out. There were some kind souls offering up thread, I'm sure there still are, I can YSI Josh's artwork when the time comes.

mzui (mzui), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 14:28 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm happy to copy disks and send them around the UK for a few people if it helps.

Email my gmail (removing the cunning spam filter) with address details.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 15:00 (eighteen years ago) link

Me too! Me too! And I'll have stuff to contribute to the NO comp.

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:14 (eighteen years ago) link

Glad the artwork turned out OK, and of course I'll be happy to send around some copies, too.

Petroski (petroski), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 21:17 (eighteen years ago) link

Just noticed that the last song on disc four has a couple of inexplicable minutes of silence at the end, I'm sorting this out but it shouldn't hopefully affect anyone's enjoyment, there isn't a hidden track as much as it might appear!

mzui (mzui), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 21:17 (eighteen years ago) link

Does that mean I get a "rare early pressing featuring a cover of 4'33" removed from later editions"?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 1 February 2006 00:11 (eighteen years ago) link

Anyone got it yet?

mzui (mzui), Monday, 6 February 2006 19:33 (eighteen years ago) link

Not yet...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 6 February 2006 19:36 (eighteen years ago) link

I got mine mzui, thanks! Excellent stuff, great quality throughout. Today I have mostly been listening to disc 3.

I'm doing copies for a couple of friends and I'm happy to do a few more if anyone wants to email me.

Could you possibly YSI the artwork?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 6 February 2006 23:17 (eighteen years ago) link

It has arrived.

:-D :-D

More later.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 00:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Okay, utterly brilliant, but! There's a tracklisting error -- "Charlotte Sometimes" comes first on disc one, after "Fire in Cairo"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 01:28 (eighteen years ago) link

But that quibble aside -- mzui, you are a genius man and a half. This has all been worth the wait and I thank ya greatly. :-)

I will happily volunteer to help burn copies for folks here in the States, but to avoid doing it forever I'll limit it to the first five folks who respond *and* who are willing to post here saying they'll burn copies for five more, etc. Write me at my e-mail below and be prepared to send five CDRs -- I have no DVD burning capability at present, regrettably, so that will have to be set aside in this tree.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 02:13 (eighteen years ago) link

is there any tiny chance to get this wonder as far as in moscow, russialand, please?

nique (nique), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 02:31 (eighteen years ago) link

Have any Canadians received a copy?

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 02:32 (eighteen years ago) link

mzui , did you get my change of address email ? think i sent it out about a month ago.

kephm (kephm), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 02:32 (eighteen years ago) link

The version of "The Wailing Wall" = aw yeah.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 02:32 (eighteen years ago) link

I haven't received it :-(

Baaderonixx, born again in Xixax (baaderonixx), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 13:48 (eighteen years ago) link

Can I get on someone's "tree" (ha hah) once they receive theirs? I'm willing to burn/ship 5 of the CD-R sets (don't have a DVD burner, unfortunately) in return.

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 15:48 (eighteen years ago) link

Please to note, dear Jay Vee, that therefore you should write me directly like I said. ;-)

kit brash (kit brash), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 03:56 (eighteen years ago) link

Another minor thing for the artwork, Mzui, if you're going to YSI it -- "Us or Them" isn't listed for disc four. The actual song is there on the disc, though, so all's good!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 06:03 (eighteen years ago) link

Ned I would love a copy as well. We are practically neighbors and I have a brand new computer with all the bells and whistles (CD/DVD burner with LightScribe technology). So we can get these burns out to people in the States if they are so inclined. That is my e-mail and will be getting an e-mail from me sometime tomorrow.

BeeOK (boo radley), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 09:10 (eighteen years ago) link

So on my second relisten through the whole main set and really, this is such a wonderful collection. A lot of performances that are monstrously good -- the version of "Want," jeeps. And "The Promise!" I always regretted missing the 2004 tour and now I'm kicking myself.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 16:36 (eighteen years ago) link

What's the footage on the DVD like?

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 17:11 (eighteen years ago) link

That will be my viewing tonight.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 17:14 (eighteen years ago) link

Mzui, did I not make the cut? In that case, I would beg a euro-ilxor to accept my on the second draft...

And though I'd already heard them elsewhere, of course in the end it's all about:

Baader, I think you did, I have the list at work, bear with me till tomorrow, not all packages have been sent, been staggering it across two weeks cause of postal expenses etc:

dear mzui,
is there any chance to get this little wonder as far as in moscow, russialand, very please?
i can take postal expenses on myself, just in case..

nique (nique), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 23:48 (eighteen years ago) link

Been watching some of the DVD just now -- I really honestly love how, far from being a distraction, the age of the source tapes and the cloudier images actually make everything seem frighteningly up to date! Bands out there now are spending all this mean just to look that way as with the TOTP clip of "Primary" and all that -- all the visual glitches look incredibly intentional!

Also really nice to see the visuals that go with the "Fuck Robert Palmer!" take of "A Forest" (the Rock Werther 1981 version) and a six song set from the 1984 era band, just to see Andy Anderson on drums (as well as the bizarro bop 'yeah I'm getting into it!' take on bass courtesy of Mr. Thornalley).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 9 February 2006 03:27 (eighteen years ago) link

We will work this out! Ned and I will get together soon to make copies. So if you are in the States and want a copy (only audio, only DVD or both) post in this thread so we can see how many we need to burn and all that. If you want to get a hold of us by e-mail instead both are valid.

BeeOK (boo radley), Thursday, 9 February 2006 11:35 (eighteen years ago) link

Here is a link for the artwork, this will have the two typos that Ned pointed out, unless Josh fancies rejigging the two pages, this is how they stand folks.
