"Crazy on You," Heart

scratch angry samoans, it should be Slint - "Good Morning Captain"

this is fuckin' hard.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Sunday, 7 August 2005 07:05 (eighteen years ago) link

Five for all time is too hard, in the end I sorta broke it down by decades so everyone got their fair shot:

VU - Sister Ray (to ensure it pisses off the neighbors)
Clash - Death or Glory (hard to pick but wins out for convolving fucking with nuns)
Replacements - Color Me Impressed (the best song on their best record)
Wilco - Misunderstood (for the haters)
Spaceshits - C'mon Let's Suicide (to up the guitar and lo-fi quotients a bit more, because I know that's what ILM likes best)

5 for 2005 - I absolutely cheated here, to check on dates and get song names right, in my perfect world these are the songs that'd be blarin' out of car windows on hot summer nights:

The Fevers - Bound To Cry
Demon's Claws - Blood On My Fangs
King Khan & BBQ Show - Shake Real Low
The Ponys - Ferocious
King Louie - I'm 13 and I'm Too Ugly To Live

3. Let's Go Out Tonight - Blue Nile

(as the thread says songs, I've had to leave out my favourite piece of music ever, which is Steve Reich's 'Variations for Winds, Strings and Keyboards' which would go above all of 'em.)
