i have no doubts that if andre was sentenced by a judge to make a southern rap album that it would be dope as dope gets, but i don't think he has any interest in that at all, and he sucks at any other music besides that, so yeah, he's done

well, in all fairness, it's been only a few years since idlewild. the fact that we didn't love it doesn't wipe it from existence. lots of people come back from one less-than-stellar album.

right now the young men are failing us, more or less -- but it's still a young man's game

in 3000s case I think it's two less than stellar albums and a bunch of bullshit movies/cartoons. and there's also the fact that he really does NOT seem interested in music - he doesn't wanna tour, he's not interested in hip hop, he wastes his time on shitty little movie roles, etc.

Also "old" is a weird adjective to use around hip-hop. Ghostface is old. LL Cool J is ancient.

De La Soul didn't release anything for a five-year period, but I guess they toured and did whatever during that time.

i mean, prior to "shine blockas", we would have had equal reason to wonder about both BB and andre. speakerboxxx & idlewild aren't my favorite albums (prefer the former), but i wasn't ready to write the verdict. i was curious about what might come next. and i'm still in that position wr2 dre.

dre is awesome on "green light" -- his verse on that fonzworth song is actually pretty good

both big and dre are pretty great on "int'l players anthem"

listening now - I don't really get around to enough rap to say that this is better than everything else or anything but I am loving the hell out of this

yeah Intl Players Anthem is the standout from this period (at least what I heard of it)
