Womanizer (Britney Spears) vs. Single Ladies (Beyonce)

Love everything about both these songs. The only respect in which "Single Ladies" clearly wins over "Womanizer" is the video.

The video for 'Womanizer' is simultaneously WTF o_O and so Britney at the same time.

i basically have never come to terms w/ britney as a concept (even if i like a couple of her songs) so take my opinions on her with a grain of salt

Radar was probably the best song on circus.

actually, Unusual You was BRILLIANT.

well "radar" was also the best song on blackout

they completely botched it up when they remixed it for circus imo

yeah I can't really grasp what "so Britney" means.

it's pretty Britney to appear naked in a comeback #1 music video

what did they do to it? i thought radar had just leaked in a shittier quality on circus or something.

and nah, that would be "get naked". plus the zoophilia in the "radar" video was kind of a turnoff.

can't remember exactly but it just sounded thicker, less crisp, as i remember. the vocal more buried. it was because they were contractually obliged to the songwriter to release it as a single, but britney was too busy being sectioned &c for that to be an option during the blackout cycle, so they shoved it on circus and hoped no one would notice/care

it's also not that bad a falloff. plax, you were particularly ready to be let down by that album, i think. circus had a few major clunker moments, but it also boasted some awesome trax.

i know this is fair, but blackout was such an album, and despite its at times incoherence, it still felt like a pretty definite document of something. even if that something was basically this

circus just feels kindof personality-less, it has some yeah fully functioning tracks. i have a particular soft spot for leather and lace but still.
