Rlly j0rdan? Why is making ppl think of the fury of a scorned woman a good title for a rap album about two male coke dealers

you know, how dare multiple time felon & documented woman beater gucci mane play on the title of a tv show that genuinely tries to find serial killers and other menaces to society? has he no conscience?
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:03 (twelve years ago) link
it's not offensive it's just... they are not women?
― Richard Nixon's Field of Warmth (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:04 (twelve years ago) link
what's your point
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:04 (twelve years ago) link
as a reference, it doesn't make any sense
― Richard Nixon's Field of Warmth (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:05 (twelve years ago) link
unless they have a lot of songs about angry women, I wouldn't know
uh, it makes plenty of sense
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:06 (twelve years ago) link
you know, it wasn't REALLY tupac against the whole world. so as an album title, it just doesn't make sense
you know, wu-tang didn't actually have 36 chambers. it just doesn't make sense.
you know, biggie wasn't actually ready to die. it's just a bad album title.
dude wu-tang clan did have 36 chambers, u need to chill out right now
― om nom nom nnamdi asomugha (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:07 (twelve years ago) link
funnily enough you are wrong about all three of your examples - Tupac's attitude was very combative, Wu-Tang referenced the 36 chambers in their music, Biggie really was ready to die cuz he uh died
try harder
― Richard Nixon's Field of Warmth (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:08 (twelve years ago) link
biggie was still alive when he recorded that album iirc

I always thought the woman scorned was the whole business of dealing in narcotics, or "the game", if you will...

did you guys know that jay-z didn't ACTUALLY have a blueprint?
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:10 (twelve years ago) link
it's actually just a metaphor
i know, it's hard to believe.

I like to think you understand how references work but now I'm starting to wonder...?
the term "blueprint", for example works within multiple contexts and has several definitions. The phrase "Hell Hath No Fury" has a SINGLE source and is an explicit reference to a particular text and context.
― Richard Nixon's Field of Warmth (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:12 (twelve years ago) link
Hell Hath No Fury is not a metaphor btw

lol
Except wrong
Fyi j0 - "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" is the phrase and I has no relevance to the clipse album - I guarantee they just thought it sounded cool
― Gatsby was a success, in the end, wasn't he? (D-40), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:31 (twelve years ago) link
i know the phrase, and i think that "sounding cool" is a perfectly fine basis for choosing a phrase for your rap album
