Is it an "Underwear" reference?

Mark G, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 16:47 (twelve years ago) link

He's coming up the stairs.. isn't he? Another song with few pictures to choose from imo!

but the whole point was to just visualize everyone voting "Seductive Barry", like having a vision board

(I suspect the guy in Underwear wouldn't be bringing her breakfast.. but I have to throw you guys off the scent SOMEWHAT)

Well, if she's getting breakfast, she's not going anywhere just yet.

Mark G, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 16:50 (twelve years ago) link

Funnily enough - I have that purse!

Has she lost her lip gloss?

Kitchen Person, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 16:53 (twelve years ago) link

I think she has, poor thing.

"The whole message board voted in unison at 4:13 AM.."

It was like they were underneath the stars in a dream. The only one who knew the reasons why was a freakshow whose sirensong lured the real Snow White ever closer to the hungry ghost. At the last minute, a switch turned on, revealing this here and now. "With you?" cried Snow White, eying the leering spectre. "I'll embrace this endless sleep when I'm dead!" She turned to run but it was too late, the scream cut off abruptly and, with a satiated "It's over," the ghost and freakshow retreated to their lair.

Is "Common People" the inevitable #1? Is this the elephant in the room that nobody is bothering to talk about because it's so obvious?

NoTimeBeforeTime, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 16:57 (twelve years ago) link

You say that, but the only way we'd 'get' the picture reference is , um, because there's no other Pulp tracks left!

Mark G, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 16:58 (twelve years ago) link

next song has my all-time favourite lyric

Mark G: good point! hey, there are at least 9 other awesome songs left.. every one of these is a rightful top 10. But many that ranked 50 or lower deserved it too IMO!

Something Changed?

Kitchen Person, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:01 (twelve years ago) link

No - but good guess. I get very singular when GISing and do not stop to think how the image may otherwise be interpreted!

I'm here!!!

I don't have any idea what this one is though :(

Juggy Brottleteen (ENBB), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:06 (twelve years ago) link

okay one more minute then a new clue coming up!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:11 (twelve years ago) link

one thing I've been trying to do is not skip around the lyrics too often - so first image is from first part of song, next image is from a line that comes after that, etc..

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:14 (twelve years ago) link

(not the NEXT line necessarily)

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:14 (twelve years ago) link

:(

Anticp . . . pation

Juggy Brottleteen (ENBB), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:22 (twelve years ago) link

Yeah I'm only seeing "Something Changed" now. "I wrote this song two hours before we met" ... "so give us a kiss to celebrate you today"

encarta it (Gukbe), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:24 (twelve years ago) link

woman with a dandelion may have been the way to go with clue #2

Razzmatazz?

Razzmatazz.

Kitchen Person, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:32 (twelve years ago) link

So the first clue is "If you want, I can write it down"?

!Alicia!, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:33 (twelve years ago) link

Nicely done!

Favourite line: Am I talking too fast, or are you just playing dumb? If you want, I can write it down."

Which line does the second clue relate to?

Kitchen Person, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:35 (twelve years ago) link

that was her blowing it - my mistake to use a picture where a woman was blowing a kiss :(

this my #1 <3

Upt0eleven, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:45 (twelve years ago) link

Didn't vote for this but glad it's so high. One of their best and most moving lyrics.

Kitchen Person, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:46 (twelve years ago) link

kinda love the way it can be a song about fate or pure chance or neither or both. plus the bit where it gets really BIG towards the end.

Upt0eleven, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:47 (twelve years ago) link

Actually this is the first song I really regret not voting for.

Kitchen Person, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:47 (twelve years ago) link

yeah, tbh I forgot to vote for it too. Was pleased to see it place so high. Trying to find a good image for the next clue..

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:48 (twelve years ago) link

Feel more ambivalent about the lyrics to Razzmatazz than I used to - they feel comparatively mean-spirited to me (as against Lipgloss say), & I'm less comfortable with vengeance & spite than I was. But then it was my #3 so y'know not that uncomfortable with vengeance, spite.
