― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 2 November 2011 21:50 (twelve years ago) link
ppl check for his... songs
2 chainz definitely has a career/career prospects beyond a couple singles in a way future doesn't
― prettyliketynandelong (some dude), Wednesday, 2 November 2011 21:52 (twelve years ago) link
that's probably true but we're talking about the biggest rapper in atlanta right now
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 2 November 2011 21:53 (twelve years ago) link
biggest RAPPER.
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Wednesday, 2 November 2011 22:40 (twelve years ago) link
Future is a star but hes like the most anonymous cipher of a hitmaker 2011 has seen

I'm deading surfboards and coming back as a FREEBANDZ stan.
― surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Wednesday, 2 November 2011 23:19 (twelve years ago) link
dude I just let these people cook and occasionally play their music in the background, it's not life or death.ASAP rocky didn't take the last $3 million on earth. I got a lot of shit to drink and need new shit to play. All this hating is way more energy than focussing on the next thing
When I'm gone submit rubber band business 2 as my top vote

well alright. bizarre distinction to make, as future is popular, and he raps, but okay.

Vnasty and gucci is the most predictable surprise of the day imo

Idg how rapper vs hitmaker is a bizarre distinction at all
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 02:57 (twelve years ago) link
well it's not necessarily one, unless you're talking about popularity

idk how I feel about Meth. good tunes to be sure, but I'm kinda bummed that it's almost an equal sing/rap mix now....
― Neanderthal, Thursday, 3 November 2011 04:44 (twelve years ago) link
yah this is plenty nice, good looking out
― google sluething so hard right now (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 3 November 2011 04:44 (twelve years ago) link
Ha, thats what I love about Ro xp. I'm cool w a 50/50 split.
― Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Thursday, 3 November 2011 04:47 (twelve years ago) link
I mean when I'm in the mood for it, it's fine (I liked Cocaine), I just prefer his straight raps tho
― Neanderthal, Thursday, 3 November 2011 04:48 (twelve years ago) link
this is slouch down low, cock one leg up on the dash and nod ya head music; love this kinda shit

Whats your favorite of his? xp

album, it's Let the Truth Be Told....
― Neanderthal, Thursday, 3 November 2011 04:53 (twelve years ago) link
Jordan, here's an easy distinction for u: 2 chainz is the most popular rapper. Tony montana the most popular song. No one cares about Future except the possibility that one of his hooks will replicate the tony montana formula
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 05:50 (twelve years ago) link
My fav is joseph mcvey but it was also the first I heard so biased
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 05:51 (twelve years ago) link
i guess, "tony montana" is popular than any one 2 chainz song by a wide margin, and "magic" isn't too far behind
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 November 2011 05:52 (twelve years ago) link
And party rock anthem is bigger than either, that doesn't make lmfao the biggest rappers in the county
or does it...
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 05:54 (twelve years ago) link
And for what it's worth, "spend it" is a pretty big single, albeit not tony montana level afaik "magic"isnt bigger
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 05:55 (twelve years ago) link
sorry deej i don't really get yr argument that futures "anonymity" lessens his classification as a popular rapper? futures clearly much closer to the rap genre than lmfao in sound, image, collabos etc. im sure you could say lmfao are part of the rap genre if you wanted, but thats kind of a weird distinction to make as they are clearly in sound and affiliation closer to "party electro" or w/e cataracs bep etc are
really like the future tape in any case, thanks for the suggestion sisil
― chilli, Thursday, 3 November 2011 13:52 (twelve years ago) link
I dont get the argument that bigger song = bigger rapper.I'm sure d4l had a bigger hit than jeezy at one point but no one said shawty lo was running atlanta
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 15:36 (twelve years ago) link
That post is gonna serve as a bat-signal for poster "chinchillas they can fit on gorillas"
― Neanderthal, Thursday, 3 November 2011 15:55 (twelve years ago) link
Listening to soulja boy's 'skate boy' tape. Not v good, but 'all gold everything' is entertainingly bizarre.
― pandemic, Thursday, 3 November 2011 16:06 (twelve years ago) link
xxp jeezy had several hits before that point though, not really seeing that w/ tity boi. don't really see the analogy tbh unless you're saying one artist is more "legit rap" than the other
― chilli, Thursday, 3 November 2011 16:41 (twelve years ago) link
I'm not saying 2 chainz is jeezy level, my entire line on 2 chainz is that hes underwhelming relative to jeezy t.i. gucci et al, but this time last year no one knew who future was. Tity boi has been in the game for years and had one of the country's biggest hits four years ago. Who knows, maybe future has an atl-on-lock career in him, but thats not likely in the near future based on the material of his I've heard.
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 17:08 (twelve years ago) link
Imo no future tape is touching trap a velli 2 or codeine cowboy

both of these things seem irrelevant to me as it pertains to this discussion
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 November 2011 17:19 (twelve years ago) link
You dont think "quality of released material" pertained to why t.i. could call himself king if the south? this isnt just about quantity of youtube hits but what ppl say about your material too
― The boyboy young jess (D-40), Thursday, 3 November 2011 18:13 (twelve years ago) link
i personally like a lot more tity boi songs than future, but i don't think futures lack of "real atl pedigree" or w/e precludes him from being a big rapper in atlanta. i suppose you're looking at it from the perspective of the perceived quality of an artist's career-long output, which is kind of a weird metric for "biggest rapper in atl right now" imo
