At work I plug my ipod into my computer so everything gets uploaded as I listen all day - I never have music actually on the computer, just on my ipod. The next day when I plug it in it wants to send the tracks I've listened to in the last whatever number of hours, which sadly includes all the stuff I listened to the day before at work, which was already scrobbled. Sure I can un-check stuff when the little dialog box pops up but it only lets you uncheck things one at a time so it's super annoying.

Seems like there has to be a way to deal with this?

Seems like there has to be a way to deal with this?

If you're using a Mac, use iScrobbler as your client software? iSproggler for Windows also comes recommended, but I've no experience myself. I hated the official Last.fm client for the Mac and haven't ever gone back to it.

oh lord -- so herman PAYS to use last.fm?? lol no wonder hes so into it

opinions4usic (deej), Thursday, 8 January 2009 19:51 (fifteen years ago) link

Also, yeh: it's not showing any neighbours for me now. They've made a mild arse of this, haven't they?

oh lord -- so herman PAYS to use last.fm?? lol no wonder hes so into it

I subscribed for a while: I liked the additional radio options it gives you, and it's pretty cheap. Wonderfully, my subscription's lapsed but I'm still getting all the benefits.

NB to any passing Last.fm staff: remember, you work for THE MAN. Therefore, letting me have my free subscription is STRIKING A BLOW AGAINST THE MAN. Thank you.

Yeh, that's what I was getting at :(

Neighbours ... just says "Your neighbours are people with similar music taste to you. We’ll find some for you soon, but it may take a day or two. Keep listening!"

Your musical compatibility with Bimble7895 is Very Low

Music you have in common includes Nadja, Brian Eno, The Durutti Column, The Velvet Underground and Echo & the Bunnymen.

that was still recharging batteries yesterday

Thus far I really like it, you can play back whole albums and scrobble last.fm at the same time. There's an ILM thread on it here.

Beloved lightbulb (Neil S), Thursday, 8 January 2009 21:28 (fifteen years ago) link

And seconded Le Bateau!

Is this a new one, Pfunkboy, or the Psycha-Soula-Funkadelic - Who Says Funk Bands Can't Rock thing I've already got? Which was indeed absolutely bloody awesome.
