Still listening to Herman's funk comp.

I'm about to get up from my desk, but I hate stopping a song before its finished (also anal about iTunes play count numbers.)

So "Men Are Getting Scarce" ends with that big OOOOOWWWWwwwwlllll..... Next song is BT Express with a kick bass drum, but I stop it right after that first beat. Sounded like Men Are Getting Scarce dude hitting the bottom after falling off the cliff.

ok i'm done.

aww man BT Express are awesome (and Brass Construction even better)

Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 13 January 2009 20:04 (fifteen years ago) link

the 1st Brass Construction album is one of my favourite albums. Real smokin' rockin' funk-disco.

Yeah I have a comp of them. They're really cool.

OK, I think I'm super into this thang, but considering I just now noticed the neighbors' makeover, maybe I'm not nearly as into this as I should be.

How long have they had the "Artists you share" portion next to your neighbors? Also, they don't seem to be so heavily weighted to your top 4 overall artists anymore, aiming for the middle now.

Okay wait a minute woah ho ho. Reverend discovered a wormhole in the You Tube internet, there. Also I remember that Eric B. & Rakim song! It's cool to hear it again, I'd forgotten it.

The Artists you share is brand new. it wasnt there until last week.

One of my neighbours goes by the name "Bongmaster-T"!

Beloved lightbulb (Neil S), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 16:16 (fifteen years ago) link

One of my neighbors, it turns out, is someone whose name I recognize from ILM: Steve Shasta. In the past my neighbors never seemed to change and it was a group who didn't seem listen to things much like what I do. This seems better.

Your musical compatibility with SteveShasta is VERY HIGH
Music you have in common includes Fleetwood Mac, Nico, Brian Wilson, Afghan Whigs and Big Star.

Euler, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 16:23 (fifteen years ago) link

My neighbours used to consist mostly of people who listen A LOT to one of my top artists and nothing much else in common. Seems a bit better now although a lot of the artists in common are bands I've only listened to like 5 songs by, which is a bit odd.

The only neighbour I recognise is Harpal who sometimes posts here.

listening to my neighborhood radio, awes but what's weird is no hip-hop in 4+ hours and several of my neighbors seem to listen to that exclusively. I don't scrobble much hip-hop, maybe it's smart enough to calibrate accordingly.

one thing i know is that none of my neighbors have me as a neighbor, those bastards

One of my neighbors turns out to be a guy from my small hometown who I've never met but is an acquaintance of a lot of people I know.
