listening to my neighborhood radio, awes but what's weird is no hip-hop in 4+ hours and several of my neighbors seem to listen to that exclusively. I don't scrobble much hip-hop, maybe it's smart enough to calibrate accordingly.

Low, yet those are a lot of my influential bands. I love some psychedelic-get-lost-in-the-depths-of-one's-mind type of soundtrack.

Agreed Herman, but I have found some great stuff which might not be considered mainstream- Cluster, Hawkwind, Can, Palace, Gang Starr, loads of reggae and dub. I've also found it excellent for listening to records by artists I like but haven't gotten around to hearing- for example Roxy Music's entire run of albums.
Not so good for checking out that latest doom/ drone offering, though!

Cluster, Hawkwind, Can, Palace are all well known (to music fans anyway) stuff though!
