Your musical compatibility with BlytheRocks is Low

Music you have in common includes Spacemen 3, Isis, My Bloody Valentine, Two Lone Swordsmen and The Flaming Lips.

Low, yet those are a lot of my influential bands. I love some psychedelic-get-lost-in-the-depths-of-one's-mind type of soundtrack.

I am now listening to Joy Division via Spotify. Saves me digging out the cds. Not so great for underground stuff but for more mainstreamy stuff (in my eyes) spotify is very good.

Agreed Herman, but I have found some great stuff which might not be considered mainstream- Cluster, Hawkwind, Can, Palace, Gang Starr, loads of reggae and dub. I've also found it excellent for listening to records by artists I like but haven't gotten around to hearing- for example Roxy Music's entire run of albums.

Not so good for checking out that latest doom/ drone offering, though!

Cluster, Hawkwind, Can, Palace are all well known (to music fans anyway) stuff though!

Shame on you for not owning the roxy music albums! get thee to one FOPP now!

Beloved lightbulb (Neil S), Tuesday, 20 January 2009 16:18 (fifteen years ago) link

I have stranded on vinyl and the rest on cd. But old cds, not the remastered ones (same with Neu and Scott Walker and Funkadelic) I will upgrade when fopp sell them for £3 each.
