the other day my recommendations radio spit out some funky live version of 'makes me wanna holler' labeled as if it's the normal what's going on version. easy enough to find it in this case but gonna get annoying if that type of thing is routine.

you can probably browse through your library by artist - i just looked through my loved tracks to see if any had changed.

i'm looking at my artists through my library tab but it doesn't indicate right off the bat which ones have been changed, which is what i would like.
yeah they say they haven't been merging all artists but i have noticed some changes, "andrew spencer and the vamprockerz" is now just "andrew spencer" (no realtion to the former) so they have basically created a new overlap that didn't exist yesterday. on a good note, they merged "diana ross and the supremes" with "the supremes".
what i would really like last.fm to do is let us manually change the ones they autochanged, and based on what people change their tracks to last.fm can go by what the popular decision is for the track standard.
good in theory, but until they give us more leverage i'm going to have to turn off this functionality.

yeah i care about this way too much
― miss precious perfect (musically), Saturday, 31 January 2009 21:25 (fifteen years ago) link
autocorrection is all well and good but why can't you manually change something back if it was right in the first place ffs?
xp snap
― suggest banana (braveclub), Saturday, 31 January 2009 21:26 (fifteen years ago) link
also it's GOT RID of featured artists on some tracks completely, eg Bobby Valentino – Rearview (Ridin') (feat. Ludacris) is now just Bobby Valentino – Rearview (Ridin')
trouble is i like some autocorrections and think they are v useful!

I'd like to see the group charts change so that the number of tracks an individual listens to corresponds better to the ranking of the artist.
― Mordy, Saturday, 31 January 2009 21:29 (fifteen years ago) link
I have a couple artists I've noted that should be corrected, but haven't. They need to fold PPP into Platinum Pied Pipers and Solange Knowles into Solange.

Yay. Charts. My top ten artists:
1. Etta James (71)2. Telefon Tel Aviv (69)3. Moby (60)4. Fever Ray (28)5. Thursday (27)6. Two Tongues (26)7. Howlin' Wolf (23)8. The Crystals (22)8. The Ronettes (22)10. Andrew Bird (17)
Etta James is from listening through her full Chess box set at least once. Moby was for some classwork I'm working on. Thursday + Two Tongues is cause I'm an emo fuxxer, and cause I'm interviewing Geoff Rickly tomorrow (Two Tongues is the Say Anything + Saves the Day collab project). Number 11, btw, is the Beatles with 16 listens.
Top 10 Albums is a little different:
1. Telefon Tel Aviv – Immolate Yourself (69)2. Moby - Play (60)3. Etta James- The Chess Box (58)4. Fever Ray - Fever Ray (28)5. Two Tongues – Two Tongues (26)6. Various Artists – The Story of Jamaican Music (disc 2: Reggae Hit the Town 1968-1974) (25)7. Howlin' Wolf – Howlin' Wolf/ Moanin' In The Moonlight (23)8. The Ronettes – Back To Mono (1958-1969) (22)9. The Crystals – Back To Mono (1958-1969) (22)10. Thursday – Common Existence (20)
I wish the Back to Mono boxset was calculated as one album -- and all the Tougher than Tough albums as one disc too.
My top 10 tracks are all Telefon Tel Aviv, except for #10, which is a three-way tie between Telefon Tel Aviv, Two Tongues' "Crawl," and Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You."

It would be neat to isolate just the most recent artists on the ilX group list. Like a way to see what the most, newest music everyone is listening to is.

yeah but if it's a song that has few listeners, there might not be enough people requesting changes to ping last.fm. that's my concern.
