i actually just heard the disko section this morning - what i was responding to earlier - but i dig the whole 3 part thing a bunch. would buy.

i mean he is hitting SO many of my 80's and early 90's buttons in 20 minutes so i am kinda programmed to love it, but it also just sounds fresh. now. not just then. which is what the good people do.

he should have todd terry remix it. that would be funny.

I've basically listened to "Strandbar" for 24 hours solid. Well, minus sleep and some socializing and climbing wherein I was wishing the entire time that I was listening to it. I think it might be my favorite dance track of the last five years.

All the optimism and excitement and rush of "Inspector" with a funky, chugging rhythm underneath. So fucking great.

Yeah, waiting to hear this on a hot summer day, out in the sunshine.

this is really dumb and not in a good way. the only hint of interesting is in the piano breakdown bit, but it has the same nasty sheen off it as lanzarote.

"really dumb" does not apply to dance music.

This wasn't nearly as instant as Inspector Norse or Snooze for me, I had to play it a few times for it to click. I can't wait to hear it out properly to see if it works as well.

"lanzarote" kinda burned me, my instareaction was that it was all tremendous fun but it didn't stick and sounds repellently wacky to me now. i think this is much the same

norse was wacky but it also was catchy. these are just aimless half-ideas. lanzarote tho is actively nasty, just horrible melodic wandering over a big lumpen beat.

whatever you think of norse there's something about how it was made that managed to give it huge longevity for such a popular record. which isn't huge longevity relative to other things but still.

yeah i agree. i don't think it's wacky, prob a sincere enough attempt at doing something latin in his own big way. the bit where the piano line is walloped home is kind of unpleasant tho. it is like bugz in the attic or something a little.
