yes, definitely! i love that reverso 68 remix in particular, but the earlier remixes and edits still seem to come from a much different place... i like most everything this guy puts out but i think he did something distinct with the snooze for loves that would definitely lend itself to the long-player format

maybe "glittertind" and the original mix of "balearic incarnation" are the most similar to "snooze"? more like that, please.

the new bjørn torske ep should appeal to the fans of that side of terje: https://soundcloud.com/smalltownsupersound/setter

Totally. This one belongs to the B-side.

am I the only one who don't like spiral? could be some random permanent vacation track from 2008. q is more interesting.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Sunday, 1 December 2013 01:13 (ten years ago) link

I think I've come round to the opinion that this isn't really a return to form. Doesn't quite have the spark, despite pushing all the buttons. Q nor Spiral.

ewar woowar (or something), Sunday, 1 December 2013 01:30 (ten years ago) link

"Spiral" is meh but oh boy could I dance to these tunes all night.

Tip from Tae Kwon Do: (crüt), Monday, 2 December 2013 09:55 (ten years ago) link

these are terje-on-autopilot ie nice enough, better than the wacky direction of doom, not really worth a huge fuss

lex pretend, Monday, 2 December 2013 10:40 (ten years ago) link

Neither knock me flat like Strandbar (Disko) did, but I def like Q better of the two.

Alfre, Lord Woodard (Eric H.), Monday, 2 December 2013 11:50 (ten years ago) link

The payoff on Spiral is pretty good but the pre-buildup middle section is duller than you'd expect from TT - almost amateurish sounding. That hook/repetition shouldn't have made it past the demo phase. Q is solid all around.

these are both just solid boilerplate norwegian cosmic house imo

^ definitely. this is his bread and butter, i think i like these more than strandbar actually but they easily could have come out circa 2006

akadarbarijava (psychgawsple), Monday, 2 December 2013 18:58 (ten years ago) link

they're both great tracks though

It's a good single, but not up with Snooze/Ragysh/Inspector Norse standards. Really do enjoy them as dance tracks, though. Hoping the incoming album is a lot better and more diverse.

can i have this boilerplate for home use

to BRR! is humane (m bison), Tuesday, 3 December 2013 03:35 (ten years ago) link

yeah, this is good but "Spiral" pretty much feels like something he could pull of in his sleep at this point. "Q" is when things get a little more interesting though, yes, not a patch on "Snooze 4 Love" or "Inspector Norse".

This is going to be a real Candyland.

Alfre, Lord Woodard (Eric H.), Monday, 27 January 2014 14:45 (ten years ago) link

It's Album Time features one notable collaboration, with Roxy Music's Brian Ferry providing the vocals on "Johnny And Mary" (a cover of Robert Palmer).

balls, Monday, 27 January 2014 14:48 (ten years ago) link

Nah, I bet it's actually just some guy named Brian Ferje

keiji cretins (NickB), Monday, 27 January 2014 14:57 (ten years ago) link

Cannot wait for this.

The big question is, which Strandbar has made the album?

Kitchen Person, Monday, 27 January 2014 15:00 (ten years ago) link

xpost LOL

"Johnny and Mary" is a song easily done wrong though, but for the time being I'll trust Terje & Ferje

willem, Monday, 27 January 2014 15:05 (ten years ago) link

xp was wondering the same thing. The people who love both versions seem to be in the minority.

Alfre, Lord Woodard (Eric H.), Monday, 27 January 2014 15:07 (ten years ago) link

Ideally, it will be a third version.

Alfre, Lord Woodard (Eric H.), Monday, 27 January 2014 15:07 (ten years ago) link

J&M is basically Palmer doing a Ferry song anyway
