I'm satisfied.

I tried to be more playful with this album,"

uh oh

max, Monday, 27 January 2014 14:42 (ten years ago) link

This is going to be a real Candyland.

Alfre, Lord Woodard (Eric H.), Monday, 27 January 2014 14:45 (ten years ago) link

It's Album Time features one notable collaboration, with Roxy Music's Brian Ferry providing the vocals on "Johnny And Mary" (a cover of Robert Palmer).

balls, Monday, 27 January 2014 14:48 (ten years ago) link

Nah, I bet it's actually just some guy named Brian Ferje

keiji cretins (NickB), Monday, 27 January 2014 14:57 (ten years ago) link

Cannot wait for this.

The big question is, which Strandbar has made the album?

Kitchen Person, Monday, 27 January 2014 15:00 (ten years ago) link

xpost LOL

"Johnny and Mary" is a song easily done wrong though, but for the time being I'll trust Terje & Ferje

willem, Monday, 27 January 2014 15:05 (ten years ago) link

xp was wondering the same thing. The people who love both versions seem to be in the minority.

Alfre, Lord Woodard (Eric H.), Monday, 27 January 2014 15:07 (ten years ago) link

Ideally, it will be a third version.

Alfre, Lord Woodard (Eric H.), Monday, 27 January 2014 15:07 (ten years ago) link

J&M is basically Palmer doing a Ferry song anyway

doesn't he make it quite clear in the interview that none of the old tracks will be previously released versions?

i lost my shoes on acid (jed_), Monday, 27 January 2014 17:46 (ten years ago) link

no

Number None, Monday, 27 January 2014 19:21 (ten years ago) link

Well, if that's the case can he pleeze put out another pressing of It's the Arps

Fiddler on a hot tin roof (ed.b), Monday, 27 January 2014 19:58 (ten years ago) link

Amazon.com actually has Its the Arps listed with a release date for next week. Think you can still get the first pressing on Discogs for a reasonable price.

Kitchen Person, Monday, 27 January 2014 20:02 (ten years ago) link

some were sketches I had written down (in words) on my phone within the last year

curious what these notes wld be like that he considers getting the idea down in words to be the key part of writing the tune

"As I think music should be presented in the right context, I didn't want to put a bunch of kick drum tracks on an album which you normally listen to outside of a club."

i hope he's referring to polka clubs too

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Monday, 27 January 2014 22:56 (ten years ago) link

lol, from the quotes & the cover i think he's going to fulfill his destiny & make a tommy seebach record

I'm assuming you're listening to a promo and that it's not floating around.

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Wednesday, 5 February 2014 21:58 (ten years ago) link

I really can't remember the last time I was this excited about a debut album by someone. It might have actually been for Attack of the Grey Lantern by Mansun back in 1997 (probably shouldn't admit that on here, right?)

Kitchen Person, Wednesday, 5 February 2014 22:11 (ten years ago) link

leak or gtfo

april 7 is soooooo far away

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Thursday, 6 February 2014 00:42 (ten years ago) link

Despite Lindstrom's relative album success, I'm still skeptical of this breed of dance producers/artists putting out full lengths after years of killer singles.

Delorean Dynamite off of the new album

groovypanda, Monday, 10 February 2014 14:26 (ten years ago) link

this album is wacky but fun

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 10 February 2014 14:57 (ten years ago) link

shocking news, i know

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 10 February 2014 14:57 (ten years ago) link

Album is now up for pre-order. Rough Trade are selling the CD with an exclusive seven track CD (featuring new tracks, long versions, edits and instrumentals) Could be good but think I'm going to have to go with the vinyl on this one.

Kitchen Person, Monday, 10 February 2014 15:09 (ten years ago) link

man i will be overjoyed if this record is working on the same euphoria level as smalhans

ciderpress, Monday, 10 February 2014 16:53 (ten years ago) link

"Delorean Dynamite", unsuprisingly, sounds a lot like Laserhawk (1, 2, 3).

disposable soma (Sanpaku), Monday, 10 February 2014 17:16 (ten years ago) link

I know it's been done a million times but I still love Delorean Dynamite! Doing Telex-style tracks is like the dance music version of playing jazz standards. The way it opens up in the second half is very uplifting!
