future and andre 3k work surprisingly well together but the production sounds so tinny on my headphones (on spotify maybe this is why)

the horrifying efficiency of that Kanye verse is just amazing. it's like he worked for years to make every word, every line as repellent as possible.

if he came out and said that he was trying to write the worst rap verse in history with that, i would do a 180 and worship him as the one true king

what are the good songs on this? i just got to the kanye one and i see drake is on the next one, and i'm not doing this anymore

Soooo this is still growing on me and my favorite album in a good while.

longneck, Thursday, 24 April 2014 20:04 (ten years ago) link

i think noncensored is on there, there's a little pull down menu on the album's page where you get to select whatever version though i think the default is edited

balls, Thursday, 24 April 2014 20:38 (ten years ago) link

if you search for an indvid track you can find the explicit that way

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 24 April 2014 20:59 (ten years ago) link

Jacques_Lamure, Thursday, 24 April 2014 23:42 (ten years ago) link

my impression has been that everyone loves it.

getting strange ass all around the globe (Neanderthal), Friday, 25 April 2014 00:19 (ten years ago) link

the way the choral bit opens behind Andre at the very beginning is v dramatic

Funny that his song with Miley is about Ciara while his song with Ciara sounds like a Miley song.

whatchutola khomeini (Whiney G. Weingarten), Friday, 25 April 2014 20:50 (ten years ago) link

if you're going to rejig it you may as well take the opportunity to replace "never satisfied" with "anytime"

lex pretend, Friday, 25 April 2014 20:59 (ten years ago) link

'hands on you,' 'no love,' and 'chosen one' would be on mine too

Jacques_Lamure, Friday, 25 April 2014 21:16 (ten years ago) link

blood sweat tears is such a great album closer. fuck this bonus track bullshit!

i really like this album!

out here like a flopson (tpp), Friday, 25 April 2014 21:25 (ten years ago) link

Why change it though? It's fine just the way it is.

longneck, Friday, 25 April 2014 21:33 (ten years ago) link

now that I've finally had a chance to listen to this inside instead of in my shitty blown out car speakers, I really like this! particularly "Move That Dope".

wasn't really into Pusha T's last solo album (was ok, but ultimately had a lot of meh tracks), and the verse here wasn't mindblowing but his flow was good enough on the beat that I don't care. love that fucking beat.

Pharrell rapping in 2014 is weird to me cos I feel like he should be frolicking in a forest snapping photos of koalas

getting strange ass all around the globe (Neanderthal), Saturday, 26 April 2014 00:52 (ten years ago) link

nothing is more true than: "blood sweat tears" should close this album

alpine static, Saturday, 26 April 2014 00:54 (ten years ago) link

I f/w the title track a lot

getting strange ass all around the globe (Neanderthal), Saturday, 26 April 2014 00:59 (ten years ago) link

for some reason when Drake says "I'm never satisfied" it is really really irritating to me

getting strange ass all around the globe (Neanderthal), Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:05 (ten years ago) link

tracks 1-5 on the Pusha album are dope, "King Push" is incredible, but it really falls off a cliff until the Pharrell track at the end

nova, Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:15 (ten years ago) link

Why include "Never Satisfied," a sketch that fades out at 2 min, and leave off "Fo Real," which was released quietly this winter but is a fucking banger?

voodoo chili, Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:23 (ten years ago) link

xxpost Andre 3000 on the "Bitch" chorus in 2014 is so....weird, like he's Ron Burgundy reading it off a teleprompter and not realizing the context. even in Outkast's pimp player days he was much more playful than bluntly dismissive

getting strange ass all around the globe (Neanderthal), Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:24 (ten years ago) link

I like "Fo Real" but the Drake is FED UP with you haters verse on that is even more lame/tryhard than his usual

nova, Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:25 (ten years ago) link

a lot of good songs have been out there that didn't make the album..."How It Was," "Substitute Everything," to say nothing of all the hooks he just gave to other artists instead of writing a full-on Future song. this is one of those albums that's hard for me to listen to without constantly A&R-ing better versions in my head. xp

some dude, Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:27 (ten years ago) link

xpost I'm not the world's hugest Drake fan by any means but I think one of his better joints was the one on his latest album where he talked about his relationship w/ his dad. it was actually affecting.

getting strange ass all around the globe (Neanderthal), Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:28 (ten years ago) link

just replace all the songs w/ "Move That Dope" on repeat

getting strange ass all around the globe (Neanderthal), Saturday, 26 April 2014 01:28 (ten years ago) link

was that song "Too Much?" I don't like it but I did think it was one of the rare times where his flow hasn't sounded stiff as hell
