I burned out on MTD before the album even came out, so I don't think any context would ever make me warm to that particular 5:41. I do like Look Ahead, I should listen to it more

Nah. It's the only one I've kept despite not being great.

only real problem w/ t-shirt is the spaced-out first 30 seconds are so great that i'm always a bit disappointed when it suddenly resolves into, oh, just another creeping plod

it kinda weirds me out that "Move That Dope" has gotten bigger and bigger at radio over the last couple months. figured it would just go away after a short stay in the top 10, but it's now at #3 on urban radio.

I dug "Move That Dope" at first, too, but now every time it comes on it's like, "great, so this is the next six minutes of my life now"

Y'all are mad. That beat is so visceral and mad and I basically love every verse, even that stupid Pusha T one. Top 5 of the year easy.

Honest is one of those weird sophomore albums that isn't as good or important as the debut and won't be as fondly remembered, but that I'll end up listening to way more

this album ended up being really underrated just cause it's not quite as good as Pluto (which it's not like that album was ever super-consistent anyway, as good as the best tracks are) and people are quick to throw away their toys

eh? Pluto feels about 5 times more consistent than Honest to me

i did throw Honest away too quickly, tho, guilty as charged

i'm an obsessive relistener on both albums and pluto is WAY better than honest

if i weren't too lazy to make my own trimmed down and resequenced version of Honest it would at least stand a chance against Pluto

feel like honest besides the inconsistent quality is also inconsistent sound/vibe wise it just doesnt hold together that good the production is super varied and theres a shit ton of guest verses that dont really flow (my biggest complaint tbh) the jams are extremely jammy but it just doesnt produce a enveloping cohesive experience like pluto did imho but pluto is like my fav album

also cant really stand futures inspirational success mode which is like .33 of the thing, like i can tell he really feels it which is cool but i do not

read him saying that getting all the celebrity guest verses lined up for this was a huge pain in the ass so maybe hell cut that shit out next time

yeah Honest is not bad but it's a very anti-climactic album. maybe more in comparison to his post-Pluto guest spots than to Pluto, really. if he'd just kept half the great hooks he gave to other artists in 2013 he could've easily had an incredible album.

i like it, though it does drag on at times. "throw away" is one of my favorite tracks future's done for a while for the crazy emotional payoff

It's not terrible it's just boring

He doesn't seem to have many good ideas left and his lack of foregrounded personality hurts this

i really think his rapping is a bigger problem than this famous 'personality' issue. like for every solid verse there's one or two that's just embarrassing.

he shdnt rap too much, just act like hes his own feature rapper
