I feel good about the top three. Spottieottie was my #1 and has been my favorite song period since i heard it the first time.

"Whole World" really sounds like the moment where Andre is so fed up with rapping that he's going to spend as little of the next 5 years as he possibly can doing it"

idk I dig his verse there. but then I don't think he could do much wrong around that time

Love spottieottie, put it at #4 in my poll. I find it somewhat strange as a #1, because it's an uncharacteristic track in certain ways--7 minutes long, spoken word instead of rapping. Like if I was introducing someone to Outkast, I probably wouldn't play this song.

But on the other hand, it's such a clear thesis statement of what Outkast was all about throughout their existence, so it's also a perfect number 1.

I flipflopped between it and SPCM as my #1 and I finally relented and made it #1 for all the reasons you mentioned - 7 minutes, spoken word, etc.

Which is also why this:

I'm also pulling for Elevators, which is their most singular track. Who else could have possibly conceived of it?

'Kast is probably my favorite music act when all is said and done. Changed the way I listened to music when I first heard ATLiens in 96. Started paying attention to detail in sound and overall production. Still consider it a top 5 sounding hip hop album. Put me down a totally different music listening path than I was on. Opened me up to the world of southern rap.

Actually kind of surprised "Watch for the Hook" didn't place. I thought that was regarded as an all-time great posse cut, and Dre and Big Boi have pretty awesome verses on it.
