there are few songs that are more fun to sing in an exaggerated Joey voice than "Pet Sematary" imo

One of their funniest lines: "We can't go surfin' 'cause it's 20 below."

"Commando" was in my top five! This doesn't bode well for some of my other choices.
"commando" is top 5 ramones, i don't see how there can be any other interpretation

"Don't Come Close" and "Pet Sematary" both on my ballot. I also had "Dannys Says" as my #3. So TOO LOW to alla these!

I can only imagine that 1 more of my top ten will make it in at this point and it'll probably be in the next 5.

Wasn't Loco Live the album that they recorded in stadiums in South America? I thought that was a bad choice. That environment seemed to suck the life out of those songs. I know they had a huge, enthusiastic following down there, but live punk rock albums should not be recorded in huge outdoor venues. Greatest Hits Live (despite the piss poor title) is a great live Ramones album, recorded in a club in NYC.― Mark M, Monday, December 30, 2002 10:15 PM (11 years ago) Bookmark Flag Post PermalinkIt was recorder in Barcelona, Spain. And it includes the best into ever, "Have any of you seen Stephen King's Pet Semetary? The middle eight where Dee Dee comes in is kinda heartbreaking. Like I said on the voting thread, I think it's most autobiographical song.

Some people (Christgau, e.g.) hate this one. I kinda love it. I think this and "Danny Says" are the two times on the album that the Spectorisms really pay off.

I was going to post that too!
The pick-up band I had at school played "Blitzkrieg Bop" one year, "Now I Wanna Be a Good Boy" the next. I tried to learn "Loudmouth" and didn't quite get it. Maybe there's a tricky change in there.
― clemenza, Thursday, 28 August 2014 16:27 (nine years ago) link
doesn't "Loudmouth" have the most impressive cold stop?
― son of a lewd monk (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 28 August 2014 16:30 (nine years ago) link
Just gave it a quick listen--I think it was the last 30 seconds that tripped me up trying to learn it. No cold stop; fade-out, like Gentle Giant.
― clemenza, Thursday, 28 August 2014 16:34 (nine years ago) link
ok what am i thinking of, then
― son of a lewd monk (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 28 August 2014 16:36 (nine years ago) link
For most of my life, I thought the Manson line in "Glad to See You Go" was "Kick the door/Light the match/You gotta go go go go..."
― how's life, Thursday, 28 August 2014 16:42 (nine years ago) link
I'm guessing most of the songs on the first four LPs end cold? That's the way I intuitively think of them, but then I wouldn't have guessed a fade-out on "Loudmouth," either, so I don't know.
― clemenza, Thursday, 28 August 2014 16:42 (nine years ago) link
